That's a decent price … But I'm disappointed with the io series imho

The heads are expensive and the unit gets dirty and it's quite hard to clean, mould grows in side where u can't get to it… And my battery doesn't last long

    Thus would not recommend

    • mould grows in side where u can't get to it

Inside the case? Or, on the brush handle itself?

      Thus would not recommend

Oral-B iO 10 (with iO Sense) should be arriving here soon. But the price will be steep to begin with.

      • both… its not a very good design

      • Is iO Sense the app connectivity?

So are you saying these $200-300 models come without it?

        • +1

Yes, the main appeal of the 10 is the iO Sense charging stand which honestly, it's expensive but I really want it.

          • @Slut: I tried to google, but there's mainly marketing stuff.

Is the stand in 10 the one with a display? That's useful but not super necessary. Surely the colour display on the toothbrush itself is purely a gimmick.

The app connectivity is also a gimmick to me. I stopped using it the second day as I couldn't be bothered bringing the phone along and opening the app every time I brush. Might be useful to people who REALLY need to step up their brushing skills. But I can't imagine maintaining the phone-brush routine for longer.

    • Haven't really had this issue with my 7. My battery lasts two weeks from a charge that only takes a couple of hours.

I will agree the brush heads are expensive, but I just bought them for $8.50 each and stocked up for the year.

    • which model is your io?

      • +1

io7 … but it dont matter which one because they are all basically the same… they will all have the same problems.

    • Yep I have exactly the same issues with my iO9 growing mould around the body where the head connects to, as well as inside the head. No amount of drying will fix the issue. Can’t contact the manufacturer, have to talk to the agent in MEL, they say user error not keeping it clean. Shaver shop won’t touch it because it’s not mechanical. Very disappointed.

  • i got a oclean elite pro x instead of one of these

    • Do you know how it compares to Philips Sonicare? Prices seem comparable.

      • Had 3 of the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean, good brushes but always died 1-2 months after warranty without fail.

Got the io9 and it’s a better unit. Like the first response regarding the mould, does happen if you just brush and leave the head on all the time, but I use a bbox straw cleaner. Otherwise after every brush take head off and clean separately

        • Yeah, it's also different way of brushing, sonic/vibrations vs oscillating head.

Hence I'm curious about Oclean vs Philips.

IO is fine, but way overpriced. I experience that dirt/mould accumulating too, but only occasionally.

@pizzaguy: they pretty much look the same.
i never used a Philips so i cant compare

        • confirm on the sonicare… all my previous brushes stopped working after a while due to design flaw.

  • Bought 1

  • out of stock unfortunately
