    +15% gen-on-gen improvement in raster is pretty meh, but at least the RRP is unchanged, and there are other perks like power efficiency, DLSS 3, etc. Compared to the rest of the 40XX price: perf, this is probably as nice as Ngreedia is going to get.

    I guess I’ll keep using my 1060 for another year

    4060ti 16gb AUD$1000+++ on launch
    LOL

    The same suckers who spend NewRRP+$2,000 on a 3 yr old car will pay this.

  • Considering DLSS FG looks kinda meh, I expect 3060tis will be the go to card for 1080p gaming. It'll play anything at 1080p 60fps already and a whole system with one is only $900.

    nVidia's janking around with card positioning is getting annoying. The 3060 ti was a great card, the 4060 ti they actually dropped the number of cuda cores (every other card has the same or higher), presumably to make sure anyone wanting to game over 1080p will buy a more expensive card still.

    Anyone know what the point of the 16GB 4060 ti is? Not even nVidia's numbers come close to justifying the extra cost.

    • It's for people who insist they'll need more VRAM, and (according to Jays2cents) there won't be a Founder's Edition of that card, so NVIDIA is basically surrendering that market share to their board partners.

    16GB on a 128 bit bus is going to be ugly

    May even have GDDR chips on the backside of the PCB so cooling is going to be overly complex for such a low powered card

    As predicted 4060 Ti 16GB will be the current gen 3060 12GB - a card that needed a VRAM boost for non-gaming ie. AI and mining

    4070 Super 16GB, 4080 Ti and 4090 Ti all coming as Jacket Man refuses to drop prices but rather plug holes in product niches he deliberately created for the 4000 series lifecycle

    Upcoming AMD RX 7600 is likely to also be total garbage

    7600 will street at AU$479 - 499, taking over the position of the current RX 6650 XT

    AMD and AIB's refuse to release more RX 6800 stock to AU so the 6700 non XT, 6700 XT and 6750 XT will continue being overpriced

    The only OzBargain level GPU deals this year will be Amazon price errors

      The Jays2cents video said NVIDIA is claiming that a faster bus isn't necessary because of higher l2 cache. I guess that claim will be tested when reviewers can start benching

        yeah, reviews are in. op's statement about e-waste is correct. according to GN it's the same as a 3060TI with AV1

  • whats best brands/manufacturers? and ones to avoid
