Don’t get fooled by cheap copies. The original lava lamps are from Mathmos. They are expensive but worth it. I have several ones and also a cheap copy. Sometimes you can find them in furniture stores. I bought one as a demo model less cheaper. https://www.mathmos.com.au/lava-lamps.html
Whats the difference? I bought one of these professor plum ones for my son last year and it seems to work fine.
The quality of all compartments. The Mathmos ones are made of heavy metal and glass. I believe the inside colors last longer, too. It’s a nice piece like a furniture and doesn’t look like a toy. I used to work in a furniture store a lot of years ago. They had a huge 1.5m tall one there. It was very impressive. They are made in the UK. If you just want one for your kids, a cheap one will probably do…
Most people don't have $100s to spend on lava lamps, our ones are cheaper but i wouldn't call them 'copies'. Just cheaper price point to make it more affordable.
Fair enough. If on budget or as a toy for kids it will probably do. Mathmos are the original lava lamps.
Also the LaveLite American made ones from the 90s are awesome. It's all about the flow :)

Blue and yellow does have a slight green tinge to it.
Blue and red is blue and red no purple hue to it at all.
