@kryzstoff I've never seen a Kogan TV, but is the quality really comparable to a Samsung??
Highly doubt it.
While yes Kogan TV's may use Samsung parts (namely the lcd panel itself), everything else is not Samsung. So it's not really a rebranded Samsung. There are only a handful of LCD panel makers in the world with Samsung being the largest. There are various levels of quality in terms of LCD and the processor behind it makes a big impact as well. Just because it's using Samsung made parts doesn't mean it's as good as a Samsung. That being said if you don't intend on hooking up a computer to the TV, the Kogan TV's get a good rap every now and then, especially for the price.
Dick Smith has the Sony KDL40BX450 40" for $597…

I think I will go for this sony one.. not sure about kogan much…
with a limited budget, you couldn't go past a Kogan (rebranded Samsung):
$500 + shipping:

or $639 with free shipping:

you could get a store branded model for aroudnthe same price from Dick/Kmart/BigW/etc. but the quality won't match the Kogan.
