Anyone Has Linux VM Image That I Can Use on Windows Laptop?
Comments
Best bet is to compile archlinux from source, create boot media and then do a native install.
Noob
Just use WSL that comes with Windows maybe? It has Ubuntu and couple of other images
Linux Mint, install to USB stick…
There are VMware Appliances you can download, or at least there used to be.
I’d say if you can’t figure out how to download an Linux distro and install it in a VM then it’s probably not something you should mess with.
I’d recommend VMWare Player over VirtualBox. And probably Ubuntu.
google virtual box + whatever linux distro you want.
Ubuntu is pretty mainstram
Thank you everyone for your valuable inputs. I found wsl is the way to go for me here. Will review other options as well in parallel. Thank you folks.
This thread sounds like piracy. Please ensure you use Linux Genuine Advantage.
Unless you need a very specific feature you haven't mentioned, this will get you 99% of the functionality of installing Linux with almost no effort: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install
Almost all windows laptops do Linux.
Even some macs do Linux too.You need to be more specific.
What is your use case? What is your pc model? And what do you mean, “in case you have it?”
You make it sound like it’s “controlled” or something.
Linux what? There's a million different distros.
What software are you using? VMWare? VirtualBox? Native install?
Ubuntu is probably standard go-to for newcomers.
