  • Anyone have one of these?
Do the beaters reach the side of the bowl?

      • A must-have accessory. It’s the one we use the most. However, I recommend getting the genuine Kitchenaid one. Went through 2 aftermarket’s that split.

        • I got the Breville machine that comes with the scraper mixer but it doesn't come with a normal beater. I guess the scraper beater replaced the normal one completely, why would you want a normal one.

          • @AustriaBargain: You mean the Breville Chef thing?

It replaces the need for 'beaters' like from handheld beaters that have the two rotating things. The whisk attachment is used when you need to airate things but for cakes and general mixing, the scraper mixer is perfect.

            • @coffeeinmyveins: Yeah the Bakery Chef Hub deal for $200. I like it, it's so big and heavy, feels like a serious machine. Though I don't know what to do with it. I always wanted a stand mixer ever since I was a kid, but I think my motivation for making cakes and cookies and stuff has drained out of me. I've just been using it to make whipped cream.

              • @AustriaBargain: haha I got the same, I love it. it wasn't a deal though, it was a steal !

You're right, it's a serious bit of kit and so far have used it to make several cakes and tiramisu's with it.

To me the biggest advantage this has over using a hand beater is that it's 'set and forget' and will just mix everything on a countdown timer but also you can just add ingredients without stopping and getting it all over the place.

  • Would have gotten one if I did not buy the Breville unit for $199 recently. Wonder if there is much difference between the 2?

Not as nice a colour imo but price is close enough to this deal that got 200 upvotes in 2021 at least

      tempting :(

    • How is this only 275W vs the 1000W from the breville chef one? seems underpowered.

      • Different power delivery method so not like for like. Plus wattage can be a bad way to determine if its powerful or just inefficient.

      • KitchenAid machines probably follow US designs. In the US, the standard electrical voltage is 120 volts with a frequency of 60 hertz (Hz). Appliances designed for use in the US are typically optimized for this voltage and frequency. The power rating of appliances is often lower, typically around 500 watts or 1000 watts, to match the lower voltage.

In Australia, the standard electrical voltage is 230 volts with a frequency of 50 Hz. Appliances designed for use in Australia are optimized for this higher voltage and lower frequency. The power rating of appliances in Australia is often higher, such as 1000 watts or more, to accommodate the higher voltage.

It's important to note that power ratings can vary depending on the type of appliance and its intended use. Different countries have different electrical standards and regulations, which influence the design and power requirements of appliances.

  • I’m confused about Catch.

I purchased some clearance items last night and this morning the same items have tripled in price.

    I don’t get it

Probably labelled clearance to prevent price matching at another retailer.

  • Mine got delivered :)
