Description in post:
'Honda ek 1 1998
manual
236,000kms

Just got serviced, no major damage to the body, but the regular honda red has faded on some panels.

Drives smoothly, I have full service history and is a perfect daily.
It has the rare mid spoiler, which I'm told is hard to come by.

Most important thing needed done is a new radiator and central locking needs looking at. Few other smaller things needed, but that's to be expected.

This is ideal for someone who is set on a civic and is willing to put some work into it.'

  • Damn, I sold my EK1 back about 12 years ago for $4k!

A 25 year old hatchback? Not for me. The first repair bill will be more than it's worth.

  • Type R gear nob but no B16B :(

    Is that you OP?

  • If it's more than $500, then no, it's not a "good deal", unless you mean a "good deal" of work required to get it up to condition…

$3,500 and firm? You need to tell this guy that the COVID era of drug money for cars is over, especially for shitbox 25yo boring, bland and un-inspiring crap wagons.

The 'matte red' is generally hard to come by too!

But I still wouldn't buy it!

    • Not as rare as all matching panels.

It looks like half the car got glued with 1/2 of another vehicle

I was just thinking that too! Like the sun faded some panels and left the other ones alone! haha

    • That’s what happens when you crash it and the whole front end of the car gets replaced and resprayed.

Anyone else thinking OP is the seller and came here thinking/hoping we would say what a bargain it is?

    • +1

      That makes sense. Cheers

$3500 for a car that old? You sure they didn't put an extra 0 by mistake?

    What a joke

That's the type of shit box that a teenager gets on their red Ps when they can't afford anything else and it should only be about $500 with a case of beer

  • Assuming a/c is working and there are no other faults to leverage a price cut, I'd say go for it. It's less that one year's depreciation loss for many new cars - if you could get a couple of years down the road you'd be winning. Also in the current market there are hardly any cheap cars to buy. At that price you can self-insure and just get TPP.

oh shit sorry guys, its 3500 AUD, that's like $2335 in USD. MY BADDD

    • Considering average km would be 360K, seller is asking the higher end of current valuation, no issue with that. What's with the conversion to $US?

      • -2

I intended to write the price in USD initially, people get confused

        • +2

why are you writing in USD.??

this is an australian site and every knows, and it only makes sense, that you should be using Kazakhstan Tenge

No way of knowing without an inspection. To me it’s an average 25yo car. Nothing special, nothing of collector value.
