But could the lowest historical low price be even furthered lowered with a new even lower than the lowest historical low price thats so low, it becomes the new new lowest historical low price for the Edge 30?

JB is such a F'in JACK! I have been checking A73 prices, always been $598, now with clickfrenzy, they jack it up to $799 !!!!

    • +1

Hmm, I think they just ended their sale and reverted back to the normal price?

I bought my mum a new phone last week - it was on sale for $549 but they also had the $20 JB Perks discount for mother's day so I only paid $529. Now the price has reverted back to the normal price of $899.

      • Nope it was their normal price, not on sale at all.

      • I needed a new phone last week, also bought the 30 fusion. Seeing the pro cheaper is a kick in nethers

Purchased the Edge 30 yesterday :/

    • +1

If you got it from JB, you can ask for a refund.

      • +1

I believe you can refund the price difference. Did that when i bought a laptop. Next day afterpay discount made it even cheap. They refunded me the price difference.

        • Yup, that's what I meant to say!

          • @FreeFrag: No luck when I tried through online chat today

            • +1

@Matta955: I bought my TV online and then it went on sale a week later. I went to a shop and talked to the manager there and she did it for me.
If there's a JB near you, I'd say try that as well.

            • @Matta955: @Matta955 Give it another try, you should be able to get a refund on the price difference. I've had luck choosing 'Payments' as the online chat topic. 'Price enquiries' will connect you to Sales and they don't process refunds.

I picked up the Edge 30 for $349 as a second phone and I'm pretty impressed. It could easily replace my OnePlus 9 as my daily.

    Great value at $314.

  • I bought the edge 30 last October for $349 but I returned it 1 month later. the phone hardware is very good for the price but the mobile reception and switching from 5G to 4G is very very poor. I was, and still am, with Vodafone. in areas where I would get a good, 3 bars, 4g+ signal on my Poco X3 NFC the edge 30 would get nothing. flight mode on and off wouldn't work, reboot sometimes solved the issue.

there is a thread on XDA with that exact same Problem and some possible solutions, none of those worked for me.

if it works with your carrier, it's a great phone, but be prepared to return it and don't immediately sell your old phone.

    • Probably missing some 4G bands that Vodafone is using. From GSM arena:

      Edge 30

      4G bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 20, 26, 28, 32, 38, 39, 40, 41, 41, 42, 43, 66
      5G bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66, 78 SA/NSA/Sub6

      Pixel 7a

      4G bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 38, 40, 41, 48, 66, 71 - GWKK3, G0DZQ
      1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 28, 32, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 66 - GHL1X, G82U8
      5G bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 20, 25, 28, 30, 38, 41, 48, 66, 71, 77, 78 SA/NSA/Sub6 - GWKK3
      1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 20, 25, 28, 30, 38, 41, 48, 66, 71, 77, 78, 260, 261 SA/NSA/Sub6/mmWave - G0DZQ
      1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 20, 25, 28, 38, 40, 41

From internet source Vodafone is using 4G bands 1,3,5 - Edge 30 should cover. Hard to understand why.

      Looks like know problem:

    • This..

Also with Vodafone and I have 1 year left of contract with s21 ultra… There's sections of regional areas and even locally where my s21 ultra doesn't pick up service compared to an oppo find x2 pro where it gets service much better compared to my s21 ultra

Regional towns like Warrick Qld for example, my s21 ultra was only giving me h+ whereas an oppo find x2 pro was giving 4g

I honestly have no idea why, it's so werid why this is the case with some phones

  • Hmmm, JB Hi Fi Site is saying it is 8GB, but I think this might be wrong.

    • Yeah saw this

    • Gsmarena reports 2 variants. One with 8GB and the other with 12GB.

      Internal 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 8GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM

      • Motorola Australia website reports 8GB:
"Feel the responsive performance of the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 778+ 5G chipset – and experience the next-gen speed of 5G4 and Wi-Fi 6E5. Enjoy smoother and faster multitasking with 8 GB of RAM."

I can't find any information about support for esim.
Non-official pages state that it doesn't. This is important for my application.

        • +1

          Dont look like supports esim.

SIM Single SIM (Nano-SIM) or Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)

    • I was looking at the phone in store last weekend at JBHifi. The Setting > About section of the phone lists it as 8GB of RAM, while the display sticker beside the phone mentioned it as 6GB.

      • These days I never rely on what is stated in store as the information is likely to be incorrect. They have too many products that change too quickly to have any real product knowledge these days.

    • +1

Bought one in Oct 22 confirmed it's 8GB Ram.

  • So does a 6gb version even exist?

  • This or Oppo A96?

    • +1

I was looking at that and this for my dad yesterday. It seems like motorola firmware is kinda buggy reading reviews from different sources.

    • +2

OPPO SUX, had the a52 for 2 yrs. I tortured myself keeping it.
Just bought a Moto Edge 30 Neo a month ago and LOVE IT, esp UI (camera is a bit meh tho but I am not a power user).

      • I have a A72 since 2020 and fully satisfied. But I am stuck on Android 11 and I'd like more ram that's the reason I'm looking

      • yeah i had an a52 too and agree its complete dogshit, slowest phone i ever had.

  • I bought one during last offer, just spoke to customer service desk and got the price different as refund

    • You get 2 weeks last i spoke to jbhifi regarding refund of the price difference. Just bring item and reciept they refund the price difference.

  • +2

Would've replaced my aging V30+ with this if it had quad DAC and headphone port.

    • +1

Sigh I'm in the same boat. Apparently 3.5mm jack and microsd slot is an impossible ask 😢

  • Is this better than Nokia 8.3?

  • +1

Bought the edge 30 a few weeks ago, it's great. Screen is excellent. Super light and thin. Great camera. Fast processor for everyday. Terrible sound but that's fine, haven't had a phone not made by Apple with decent sound.

    • I am not a Samsung fan but someone had an oldish model the other day and the sound was great

    • +2

Pretty sure the flagship Samsung phones like S23 Ultra are at least as good or better than Apple

      • +2

        Agreed.

  • After using this phone for the past couple of days, I am more than happy with it especially considering it cost just a couple of beers over $300
