I'm waiting for the EOFY Harvey Norman deals

    • Any idea how good the EOFY deals are?

I am hestitating when to pull the trigger.

    • And then price match elsewhere, I hope.

  • +1

Hmmm should I wait until EOFY deals or should I add to cart now? I've currently got a 75 inch Hisense TV that's closing in on 6 years old. The picture has been deteriorating. Shadowy bleeding picture especially on low light scenes.

Hisense has been good but seems like a lot of people speak highly of this model.

    • Not sure if it will drop much below this price in EOFY deals. Or it might and they might not have enough stock so…..

  • +2

can't deliver 50 km from GPO, useless

  • Hows this as an outdoor TV?

    • It's not have any weather rating, ip65 etc, but as far as brightness it'll be good, gets over 1000 nits brightness for bright area viewing.

      • Thanks, Sorry should have mention it will be covered in the alfresco area. Just worried about how it will deal with brightness.

Wish they had these in an 85 Inch :-(

Reviews don't seem to be that great. People complaining about dead pixels and TCL's response being 'up to 5 dead pixels it's okay' !? What's the point of 3 year warranty if they don't cover dead pixels up to 5. Also energy rating on these is just 2 stars (not the most efficient TVs, which will show in your electricity bill in long run). Other thing is TV being slow over time (first very snappy but sluggish after few updates). If you can live with these three negatives, all other things seem to be great (personally I'll pass).

    • +1

Bought one 6 months ago. It's been fantastic. Amazing screen quality. No dead pixels (take it back to TGG if it comes with any). Don't watch enough TV to worry about insignificant energy cost difference. But you could always power it down rather than going on standby if you were concerned. The snappiness may have been the previous Android models. Mine has been totally fine running on latest Google software.

      • Thanks for the reply, I was only referring to the reviews in the Goodguys for this particular model (you could have a look yourself). Goodluck claiming warranty on dead pixels unless you have more than 5 (apparently TCL won't response to any claims for a less than 5 dead pixels).

        • +6

          All good.
Only 2/31 reviewers had dead pixels. 2/31 mention slow processing or trouble with apps.
4/31 on the other hand were happy with the software/performance. Overall 85% 4-5 star reviews.

Every TV is going to have something wrong with it at some point, so you're never going to please everyone. Gotta weigh up the overall odds and the initial value.

The TCL Mini LED range already represents incredible value, even more so when they are on sale! If you can find a better TV for a similar price then you'd be doing well. For me the upfront value was worth more than the few potential downsides.

          • @stuckster: Goodluck dealing with tcl at all.

6 emails from them asking for the exact same information (that i provided in the first and second email already), and then repeating the troubleshooting steps i did over the phone when i lodged the actual ticket.

Tcl closed the ticket as “resolved” before i could even reply lol.

So glad jb hifi is refunding me and i dont have to deal with tcl support ever again

            • @amityaaron: Why were you dealing with TCL support?? Were you out of warranty??

              • @sotko: yep TCL support.
And it was 1.5 weeks out of the box… They were completely useless.

  • Can't seem to get delivery or pickup in Vic 😕

  • Bought the 65" 6 months ago for $1,276 which was a steal. So $1,196 seems like a prety good deal.

  • No stock in Perth or closeby…

    • I tried ordering online and it says no stock but when I called 1300 942 765 they said there's stock in the Perth warehouse and they did my order including delivery, installation and wall bracket. The order has been sent for approval so hopefully it does and then I'll pay for it tomorrow.

Went to TGG store and put the order in. $1541 including free delivery and install. Very good deal.

Paid with gift cards, total damage is approx $1400.

        • Where did you get the gift cards?

          • +1

@gamcna: Get it online through Giftz - can be used in TGG or JB-Hifi. For another 8% off. Not the best, I still had few hundreds from previous 10% off from Coles. Total paid was around $1,400…

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/774935

            • @racingmiku: Thanks for that, how did you redeem them as it doesn't let you do split payments?

              • @gamcna: I managed to pay for it with the 2 Ultimate gift cards, ended up converting 1 Ultimate gift cards to a Goodguys gift card instore then buying online.
My order is processed and should get delivered Sunday.

                • +1

@gamcna: Nice! Also delivery this weekend, install on Monday. All included. Hope the tv is as good as some reviewed!

  • No stock near me, anyone managed a pricematch?

    • I tried JB HiFi to no avail. The most they could offer was still a $100 more expensive for the 75”.

      • +1

        Hi @oddy1113 @pranksta!

First of all, thanks a ton @HamBoi69 for letting us know about this killer deal! Was literally in the market for a solid tv given im moving to my new place in a week, and this was a real solid deal!

Just registered to the site so I could answer you guys and help out with my experience.

I just placed an order for the 75 inch from Melbourne with JBHifi today around midday. Was able to price match and get $1541 when discussing over call. Combined with $59 shipping cost from JBHifi, the bill was $1600 for me.

I'm not sure where y'all are trying to order from, but that was how it panned out for me. The sales agent was pretty accomodating so maybe if you try again, you can get lucky.

Wish you all the best and happy buying!

Would you be able to upload a receipt? Would make it really easy to negotiate over the phone.

        • +2

$1541 is the price TGG staff (and I assume JB?) get access to, so you've done well.

        • +1

I tried with chat and they would only offer $1370 as they could see good guys had no availability near me

          • @paul04: @georgev check my screenshot above

            • @KillFactor100: Thank you

            • +1

@KillFactor100: thanks for sharing and congrats. Sadly I am after the 65" as I cant fit the 75" in this spot although it is really tempting to try lol

          • @paul04: Try to give them a postcode where TGG has stock. It does not have to be your place. I have used postcode 2000 or 3000 many times when price-matching before even though I’m in Perth.

  • Just curious why less upvote for this deal ? Price is actually better because of free delivery

    • Perhaps because it seems like there isn't much stock actually available.

  • +1

I also placed an order for the 75 inch from Perth with JBHifi today. Did price match and got it for $1541 in store + $59 delivery.

  • Refresh Rate: 144Hz… Dats Nice :X

  • Looking to replace my 8 year old Panasonic LED (TH65CS610A), reckon there would be noticeable improvement? How is the build quality of TCL?

  • I opened the box today and turned on the tv. Found motion is lagging too much.

    • Care to share more details? How bad is the lagging? Movie, game or something else?

      • Didn't try game, mainly sports. For movie you won't notice much.

    • Lagging behind what? The sound? Gaming input?

      • Lagging in the sense there's motion issue…fast motion or movements are not smooth. You can easily notice when you watch sports. Check the reviews below,

      I had the same experience.
I tried every single picture setting, even followed a few youtube guides ozbargain recommended.

Not to mention the amount of times the ui glitched or crashed.

I returned mine within 2 weeks.

Also, TCL support is completely useless.
Im talking, they asked for the same information in 6 emails and wouldnt proceed my case further.

      • Did you return to jbhifi? What did you say to them? I thought they won't take back once opened unless some major issues.

  • +1

Just moved into a new place and in need of a Tv. Is there still a way to get this deal?

  • +1
