First post, let me know what to edit.

I've been keeping an eye on 2x different karaoke machines (JYX-55 and JYX-66) and got notification from 3x camel the JYX-55 has dropped to all time best price of $142.49.

The other one I'm watching is this JYX-66 model which is currently $180 but was down to $127 recently (it also had the $20 coupon so was $107 but I was too slow and missed out) .

The specs on both models look identical except JYX-66 is heavier, does that mean it's better quality? I've messaged the seller and waiting a reply on which is the better machine so I haven't bought yet.

Battery 5200mAh
Output power 15W
Subwoofer & tweeter 5.25 inch + 2 inch

Package dimensions:

JYX-66 = ‎35.6 x 29.9 x 17.4 cm; 3.54 Kilograms

Edit: I forgot to mention the JYK-66 also has 15% off coupon if you have Prime

I have one of these, they're pretty good, with good sound quality and are easy to set up, surprisingly good.

    • How does the music actually work? Do you supply your own?

      • There's plenty of Youtube karaoke channels.

        • So what, this thing connects to Youtube somehow?

Edit: I see, that's a phone on top. So you hook your phone up to this thing and then use your phone to find karaoke stuff?

          • @caitsith01: You output the Youtube sound to the machine

          • @caitsith01: I may be wrong, but it looks like just an amp and mics?

            • @upliftcontrol: I have the same thought. Shouldn't be called a karaoke machine if there is no program or app that is supplied. So I'm wondering is, is this "supply your own" in terms of songs?

@Wezt: Karaoke machines allows for easy connectivity and are tuned for voice. It also has treble and echo control which is essential for a good karaoke session. But hey, nothing stopping you from using a megaphone I guess.

      How we use it, is
      1. Connect to the Karaoke machine using your tablet/phone via Bluetooth
      2. on your Tablet/Phone use YouTube app and search for Karaoke songs with the lyric
      3. Chromecast that to TV, sound/mic will output to Karaoke machine speaker
NOTE: you can use other input as well.

    • That price is USD

Karaoke machine? Where my Filipinos at?

    • U mean Koreans?

      • +1

No. Haha Filipinos are known for singing and karaoke

        • +4

More like the whole South East Asia area.

          • @kml22: Yeah but Filipinos are the best lol

          • @kml22: Filipinos are actually good at it though.

This is coming from the people who invented Karaoke.

Bought both 55 and 66 last Christmas.

I kept the 66 in the end.

    Here’s my view.

    In terms of music -
Personally I found the music playing off 66 sounding a bit clearer whereas 55 produced more echo. The max volume of both machines is identical.

    Connectivity of both is easy.
Turn on paring mode, go to phone Bluetooth and just select the machine model.

Both sound produced from the mic almost sound identical. Having said that, the quality of the sound produced out of the mic isn’t bad at all. In a normal sized living room, it is more than enough. I didn’t have to crank the volume to the max.

On the 55, there is some rgb lighting elements to it while the 66 doesn’t. I think you can also put a mobile or ipad in top of the 55.

When I comes to why I selected the 66 in the end is because of the handle. If you look at both the pictures, the handle of the 66 is much larger compared to the 55. It is just so much easier to carry around and I don’t really care about the RGB.

In the end I selected the 55 because I think it sounded slightly better and very easy to carry around.

AMA if you want to know more.

Also, in terms of how I use it as a karaoke machine.

I usually don’t have any music connected to the machine. The music actually comes out of my Soundbar connected to the tv and I use the built in YouTube app on the TV to look for karaoke version of the songs.

The only sound that is out putting from the machine is my voice (noise).

RE: The 66, do you know what the difference is on the Amazon listing between the M (mic X2) $179.99, versus the L, being $159.99?

      • I’m not to sure the difference about L and M TBH.. can’t comment on that

    • was it free returns when you returned one of the units ?

      • Yes Amazon free returns within 30 days no question asked.

        • Thanks in th end I couldn't decide and bought both in hope to return or resell one.

  • Could anyone comment as to whether this would be suitable as a cheap microphone speaker system at small events?

Eg. Could this be used as a cheap microphone/speaker system at a panel event with 40-50 people?

    • Hey yeah we bought the 55 for my 13yo's birthday. 8*4metre marquee, 30 girls, used to deliver speeches too, loud enough.

    • Shouldn't be a problem. If you look at the reviews of the JYX-66 you can see this guy using it to preach on the streets

      • This video made me choose the 66, instead of the 55, cannot find any video of the 55 in action.

  • I ended up buying the JYX66 from the link, but they sent me a JYX65 instead :(

    • You only got 1x mic? I'm sure they'll send the correct one but it's a hassle to arrange and send yours back

      • Nah I got the 2x mics, but the version on the front says JYX65, which according to their table, has less battery capacity.

    • Same but it does have 2 mics in it, the blue and black colour. I have yet to fully open and inspect and test everything. I guess the key feature to look for would be the 5200mAh battery then it would be the same thing, the 65 model has 4800mAh.

  • This went back to full price and I added to my “saved for later” last night. Woke up to a price drop and a $30 coupon so got it for $112.49
