  • Also a Collingwood Stamp pack for @jv and a Broncos Stamp Pack for NRL supporters in Brisbane.

    • Thanks, added.

  • Got the book and coins this morning for my son.

  • There's 18 teams so why does description say 20?
It would be nice if you can buy the whole set like the individual packaging with their own envelope
Looks like you just get a tube of coins if you pay the $45

    • There's 18 teams so why does description say 20?

18 teams + 'AFL Logo' & 'AFL Women's Logo' (which can't be purchased separately).

Also disappointed that they don't sell the album separately like previous year 'Great Aussie Coin Hunt'.

    A $1 coin for only $5

    • It'd be nice if they released some into circulation so there's a slim chance of finding one naturally. I guess cashier's would just steal them.

      • You can also score the AFL and AFLW $1 coins in your change with any cash purchase at the Post Office.

Can get the AFL/AFLW coin in circulation.

Feels like a bit of a rip off buying a $1 coin for $5

        • The optimist's view would be that people getting one of these in their change for $1 are getting a collectors coin worth $5

  • Tempted to add to the ol' coin collection just because the AFL and AFLW coin might be a rarity in years to come. They're all unlimited mintage but if those two are only going out in folders there won't be that many in circulation.

Although maybe they'll sell 50,000 sets and thus kill my plan.

Buy all 50,000 of them then, they will be even rarer as long as you don't sell them all at once.

      • Unlimited mintage, they'll just sell 100,000 (and keep making them for longer)

Unless I can figure out the maximum mint capacity and buy everything that way throughout all of 2023…

    • I'm also interested in thoughts about rarity - whats the consensus on Ozb? Is this a good fun little fun investment to give to the kids or a Franklin Mint special for landfill when I die (or coke machine use).

Coins are terrible investments generally. I have heaps of those $5 coins from the 90s that have barely kept up with inflation because they made 20,000 of them. These are going to be purchased by the thousands and tossed in a closet for the next few decades, it's unlikely it'll be very rare for collectors in the future.

        • same with those who kept the 1 and cent pieces hoping to cash in on their investiment.

          • @godofpizza: only coins I ever made money on were a Canadian thing, $20 coins they actually sold for $20 (and were 1oz of pure silver).

But they only went up because silver is now CAD32 an ounce lol

  • The coloured $1's if you can hit your 10% in the r0lls are triple digits on Ebay .
Believe me based on the past insiders/people are plucking them from some of the rolls and resealing. .
BTW 70% inflation on the $5 ones . Last year coins were $3 :)

Still got Lizzy on one side…
