My mains are Sony WF-1000XM4, I bought the Anker Soundcore A40 for about $97 as a backup and returned them because they cut out when I walked 5 meters away, and there was lag even with 'game mode' on.
These have aptX Adaptive which I can use with my DAP and other devices. My Sonys use their own LDAC codec and AAC and SBC, same with the Soundcores. I'm not going to compare aptX with the other codecs like some nerd on Head-Fi because I don't care and I probably can't tell the difference.
I got these for under $70 somehow last week. I can walk to my backyard behind 3 walls before they start to cut out. I think they sound better than both the Sonys and Soundcores. I've tried several Soundpeats and returned all of them. I listen to bass-heavy music and these sound great even with weird shit like JPEGMAFIA x Danny Brown. Low latency when watching tv shows and movies. Noise cancelling is good. Battery life is good. App is ok with EQ and other basic stuff, not as feature rich as the Sony app or the Soundcore one (I can't remember how good the app was because I returned the A40s after a day and deleted the app). IPX5. Very light and comfortable. The Sonys with Comply TrueGrip Pro tips feel heavy in comparison and still fall out of my ears sometimes.
You can get them for cheaper if you wait for a better discount, but I think these are the best noise cancelling earbuds for under $100. Maybe better even than Sony WF-1000XM4, however, I've only had these for a couple days. I own a lot of AV gear, speakers, amps, headphones, earphones, dacs, headphone amps, vinyl, turntables etc, but I'm not an audiophile. I don't look at graphs and shit and talk about how my tube amp sounds warmer than whatever, I just buy a lot of stuff and use them. If I like them I keep them.

How is the call quality on these, especially in outdoors/noisy environments.
