Interested in Getting PS5 Disc through Mobileciti Facebook Page (Warning: Fake / Scam)

Hi

I've been looking for PS5 Disc edition through marketplace, it turns out the seller is a mobileciti sales rep.

Could someone (@ahuang ?) please confirm whether this fb page is a genuine mobileciti fb page? https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090736568934&mibe…

I have a suspicion it is a scam profile as the PS5 price is too good to be true.

Plus they only accepts bank payment only, and the official mobileciti website doesn't state they sell PS5 too

Thanks

Update: the above is a scam fb page. As the correct one (as per their website is https://m.facebook.com/mobileciti.com.au)

Pro tip: When an Australian store refers to their customers as "sir", run.

  • +3

lol straight away i knew it was a scam page.

    • Low quality logo and pictures
    • comments from the same people
    • reply from the 'author' isn't replying in a typical Australian English customer service tone
    • Their email is "[email protected]"

Just buy the PS5 from deals posted, would you rather get scammed or wait and save around $50 from a deal post where you know it's from a legit dealer?

To check if real or not, you can go to mobilecitis website, and scroll to the bottom to find their Facebook link.
Most business' will link their official fb, insta etc pages on their main website

How the hell do people think this page is legit, poor quality photos, bank payment only and the same phony accounts saying how safe and legit they are 🤡

  • Got to love how people fall for such an obvious scam.

It's way too common, especially when people are not tech savvy such as the older generations or people who are desperate and scam pages cloud their judgement.

My mother, 63, she is very influenced over crap over the internet. She believes buzzfeed articles, she believes fake videos and she even almost fell for a SMS scam where Australia Post asked for her bank details and name to confirm the delivery even though she has not purchased anything….. she can't think for herself logically and she's 100% emotional. She was angry that her Louis Vuitton bag didn't arrive and I said "what's the website?" and she gave me this website like 'www.louiusvuttonoutlet.com.au', the brand name was wrong, only direct deposit, etc….. obviously a scam website and the bags were like 80% cheaper…. I mean… come on

She also got scammed $5000 because she got a random email stating that her daughter was in hospital and they needed money and they will pay her back…… SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW THE PERSON!…. Then she continues to pay $100 per month to said 'sick daughter'….. I found out cause she was talking about it and I knew straight away it was a scam and told her to stop sending money which she did, but how can you go on for 2 years sending money for someone you don't know, haven't seen, no pay back, no hospital information etc…..

Thing is, my mother can't think for herself…… and the sad part is… she doesn't want to help herself, she's been spoon fed all her life from daddy and mommy and multiple husbands where she is the house wife. She doesn't even know how buy car insurance without someone doing it for her, it's not her age, it's her. She's been like this since her 30's

      • honestly, this happened to my late dad too; he sent a copy of his passport to someone he didn't know.
The hope was to get a 'business opportunity' from overseas….

Ah well, that passport no longer valid anyway, he is in Heaven now…
