Hi. I'm ozbs25 and I'm addicted to buying torches and lanterns.

There is currently a 40% off coupon that you can apply to some of Olight's items on Olight Direct AU's Amazon store. The Olantern Mini goes down to $42.21 in your cart. I think RRP is $87.95 as that's the price on Olight's own website and at several other websites I saw. There are three colours to choose from, Red, Black and Grey. I found a couple of other items that the 40% coupon could be applied to but I didn't think it they were as good. For whatever reason the starting price for the Mini is already 20% off to begin with. (If my maths is correct)

OLIGHT Seeker 2 Pro Searchlight $119.97 in cart (1 only)
OLIGHT Olantern Classic 2 Pro Max 300 Lumens $86.97 in cart

Be warned, when it's in your cart it's

  • Any thoughts anyone before I waste my money. Any similar better product if anybody knows ?

  • So is it good? Do you own it?

I have no idea. I'm pretty deep into the Olight ecosystem so I keep getting their stuff. Don't think I've had any duds yet. There could be better value stuff out there; I've heard people refer to Olight as the Apple of the torch world but I've been happy (enough) with their stuff both from a performance kind of view and esthetics POV. I don't really know how they compre to other brands as I haven't really tried many other brands. Longevity of their products, I'm not sure yet…

      • Eco system? Lol

They do wierd things with the charging and proprietary batteries. I have lots of their magnetic chargers and quite a few batteries already so it's fine. I've heard many people complain about it.

  • Better be quick. The red one just jumped to $87.95 before 40% coupon!

    • They're on to us!

So frustrating no indication of colour temperature.

Damn, RRP seems a little wack at $100 for the bronze one.. Not sure if it's worth the now $53 it's at from $88 - 40% (for the other colours). Seems quite small for a $100 unit although intrigued by its light output. I like to point my Wurkkos WK30 at the ceiling to get a glow of my close area when indoors and not disturb others in the house, I'm wondering if this would do an even better job at that though with its shape..

I think there's a much larger, like actual camping size, lantern like this that's also collapsible (forgot which torch manufacturer) but RRP I think is over the $100 mark (but also regularly goes on special here too).

That's why I marked it as OOS. I guess the discounts weren't supposed to stack. You can sometimes get 40% off during Olight's quite frequent promos so the 40% off by itself doesn't feel that special. That bronze one does look nice but yeah, that RRP.

      • Not a bad post though, I had to think twice when I saw it at the $40ish price. Might have been a neat little thing to have actually.

The other one I was referring probably had a much higher output though so probably wouldn't work in my case anyway. My room would probably still look like a light was dimmed on at the lowest setting.. 😅 Also, I think I may have seen it at like $60ish lowest when on sale so still competitive to your item I guess if you wanted less light and a smaller formfactor.

I'm sort of intrigued again. If it came down to $42 again I'd probably bite because why not, it's cute. And if it's lightweight and non-cumbersome, might be a cute neck leash light for walking bigger dogs in low light! 😅
