So I went into the store this morning, expecting to use the $39 + trade in 2 games deal.
To my surprise I only had to pay $3 for the remaining balance. (I paid $10 deposit)
Not sure if it's a price error, but I have attached the receipt to see if others can take advantage of it.
I am a Level 4 EB member and I got $12 extra trade-in bonus according to the receipt, so I reckon non members can get it at $25.
Which select games?
The original $39 + 2 trade in games deal only accept "select" Switch or XBOX series or PS5 games.
If you ask a staff, you would likely be told that "select" games are those that have at least $10 trade-in value in the EB Game internal system.
You usually have no way of knowing that, so the best way is to bring in a bunch of games and ask them to check for you (usually a fairly quick process) and choose the 2 lowest value games to trade in.
In my case, I traded in Just Dance 2022 and 1-2-Switch
I would say price error. Usually these 2 for $x trade do not include level bonus.

New staff sometimes make this mistakes but this is not a deal.

But I'm not 100% sure it's a staff error because the staff who served me didn't have to do a lot of input, it seemed to me that he just scanned the games and entered my driver license details and that was it.
Exactly, they are meant to be removing the eb world, hence not an input.
That is right. The error was not ignore the real price for the trade. If you trade 2x games that are worth, let's say, $30 bucks, you still need to pay $39 on top.
The staff just calculated the trade in amount less $85.
It is Nice to see How those 2 games + $39 is a bad deal sometimes.
Those deal Just last for 7 days after releasing date.
If you have a expensive game I would say to wait and get the real price + bonus for It.
If you have 2x $10 game, the deal works for you.
Def an error. You should have gotten ~$25 for the games. $36 is for PS5/XSX games like Jedi Survivor.

It could very well be a system error and in that case the staff wouldn't be held responsible.
Even if it's indeed a staff error, do you honestly believe that it is a mistake that is serious enough to get someone fired?
Don't worry, they won't and shouldn't fire him/her over this. If they do, better leave, as it means this company/manager does not promote growth/development.
You should remove the post as this is not obtainable as it was staff mistake.
I dont know if this is a staff error, as I have receieved the EB World bonus on multiple trade in deals I've done at two different locations.

Error. I traded in two games and pay $39 for Diablo 4. Think it was Tiny Tina's wonderland on PS5. They said i had zero left to pay. The staff member rang me later and said she accidentally traded them in as controllers and they would let it slide.
Is Diablo also part of trade deal ? it doesnt say on website, any other games you know that are ?
Its not a price error. EB staff are nice enough to tell you that you will get a higher discount if they do a normal trade-in instead of the promo trade-in 2 games and get the game for $39. Normally happens when you trade-in switch games or nintendo games as they have a higher trade-in price. But in this case it looks like an error.

Anything with current preowned selling prices of >=38 will work, unless bogof promo is on.
