    Isn't this illegal?

Inb4 some drop kick who normally rides this on the side of the freeway says "it's legal on your own property".

It's wierd how states other than the one you live in exist. It may be even more shocking for you to learn they have different laws.

      The more you know

      • Is it legal anywhere in Australia?
Please point out where it is, I'll wait

        • +1

One would think, a quick google search would be warranted before negging a deal citing that it's illegal to ride in anywhere in Australia when in fact it is legal in some states.

            You know English right?

I did a search, I can't see how a 32km/h escooter is legal anywhere. I'll keep waiting mate

            • @deme: It seems like you are the one who can't comprehend written English?

            • +1

@deme: I guess doing a search isn't going to do much good if you can't comprehend the rules LOL

      • Only Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory allow electric scooters to be used on footpaths and bicycle lanes, while other states restrict their use to private land. However, these regulations may change at any time.

    • Legal now in Melbourne.. so YES

      • +1

Any escooter capable of more than 25km/h isn't allowed, so NO.

      • Legal now in Melbourne.. so YES

        Nope, not this one.

      • As long as your riding speed does not exceed 25km/h, you should be within the legal regulations. If your electric skateboard has a maximum speed exceeding 25km/h, but you can control the speed to not exceed this limit

    What's the weight of it?

  • Title: Blutron E-Scooter 40KM Range

    Description:

  • The police wont know what the scooter specs are, so legal / not its up to you

      so legal

      Nope. Not in VIC

Bruh 10% of the feedback on your eBay store is negative. I'm good thanks

    • Weirdly they've had a lot of sales but very few in the last 12 months. That's why the 4 negative feedbacks give such a bad rating.

Also one of the negatives was solely due to the courier being difficult. Nothing to do with the seller.

Stick to the well known brands like Segway and Xiaomi if you are buying entry level scooters.

    • Why?

      • Reliability, easy access to spare parts/mods and access to existing user's knowledge base, just to name a few.

Ultimately, why would you buy an unknown brand when you can buy a well known brand for the same amount of money when there are no pros to buying the unknown brand?

        • @grish I understand that Blutron electric skateboards have a significant advantage in terms of a 40km range and relatively competitive pricing compared to Ninebot and Xiaomi electric skateboards.

Illegal to ride in public in VIC

    • +1

Restrict it to 20km/h and you're good.

      • +1

Needs to be sold that way, done by the manufacturer…

      • Unfortunately VIC rules state: "it’s not a high-speed e-scooter – capable of more than 25km/h (this is considered an unregistered vehicle and penalties apply)"

So basically it has to have a max speed of 25kph, not that you can't ride faster than 25kph. How they'll check this if you always keep below 25kph I don't know though.

        • When I was invited to meetings to review legislation changes they basically said if it's restricted to the legal speed it's fine. If it's unlocked to go faster then it's no longer allowed. A car can go faster than the legal speed limit.

          • @Clear: I can only tell you what is on the Vic roads website, no more no less.

  • So a car that has a top speed of 300km/h is allowed to be driven to the speed limits prescribed, yet a scooter cannot?

Don't really see the logic but hey, that's the case with everything.
