The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-SZ7 (Black) for around $170 ($177.21 USD) delivered to Australia from B&H in the US, savings of around $60-$70 off local prices. This is one of the best sub $200 cameras one can get, with some features rarely found at this price point:

• 10x optical zoom (25-250mm equivalent)
• 1080p video capture
• 14 mp CMOS sensor

  The Fuji F80EXR is also a very good camera if you can still get it (same for F70EXR which is also excellent and you can get for $138 delivered at http://www.citiwideonline.com/au/index.php?page=shop.product…)

  Do NOT confuse this camera (which has -NO- GPS),
  with the TZ10 (often referred to as SZ7) which does.

  Also, the TZ10 has "only" 720p HD video capability.

      I don't get it either… I think the correct mapping is:

      . (US NTSC=ver) SZ8 = TZ10 (AU PAL-ver)

      The Cameras market (like the notebook & netbook markets)
      are & have been "numbers games" for a long while already.

      You just need to get clarification from the maker's site
      instead of getting fooled by a vendor's site, even if it
      happens (in rare instances) to be due to a "type" error.

        True, but I think B&H has a separate listing for the TZ10 (which they also call the ZS7 lol):

        Which looks like they no longer sell.

        The trick is NOT to be dyslexic (as many of us are)
        when reading model numbers:

        SZ7 != ZS7

        (not equal)

        Panasonic, etc. seem to be placing -boulders-
        in the paths of dyslexic camera buyers… :-/

    What about this eBay deal:

    • TZ20 = SZ30 for AU$ 242 incl shipping (direct from Hong Kong)

    They suggest that you can expect to receive it in a week… :-)

    (In case -I- got the numbers wrong, the one I mean has a wider
    zoom than any DMC-TZ or DMC-SZ predecessor. ;-)

      The TZ20 is really good but I think the sz7 beats it by being smaller and better video. I'm buying it as a gift so the price suits me better too
