Bought 3, Guava is the best

    • +1

4 would have ideal to get cash rewards $5 bonus

      • S&S would be ineligible though

        • +1

First s&s eligible. But not sure what is first s&s, first on Amazon account or first one for the product

          • +1

@R14: Basically not for a redelivery. So just create a new S&S.

        • What's S&S?

          • +2

@Widget: Subscribe and Save (Amazon gives you 10% off if you do recurring orders)

            • @borgainerz: Worth noting you can cancel it right away so you don't need a recurred order to get the 10% off the first order. Anything that makes it to OZB will probably be a temporary sale price so price will go back up by the time the second delivery comes around.

        20% cashback at cashrewards

        • +7

          I think it's 0.8% for food?

    • whats after guava ? 12 already a lot

  • +2

    Got 6. Thanx OP

  • Any suggestions. Never tried this before. I pick guava and lime as they are two of the most people left reviews.

    • +1

      Passionfruit, Sarsaraprilla, Peach

    • +3

Shame the Bundaberg variety pack rarely goes on sale, gets sold out asap when it does, is out of stock for ages afterwards, and isn’t available at coles or woolies, only on amazon. Would be so good otherwise.

    • +8

Read the sugar content and then decide that none is the right option for you.

      • I've got 3 of the guava in my fridge and I just can't bring myself to drink them because of the sugar.

        • I used to love the Christmas spiced ones but can't bring myself to drink them anymore knowing the sugar content :( I think we have 8 or so left over.

      • +1

its like 60g per bottle right?

I once looked at the back of an American import Arizona Iced Tea from IGA and it had a whopping 77+g of sugar

  • +1

    Diet ginger beer also available.

Great to combine with high alcohol ginger beers like Ginger Kid or Fat Pixie when they’re on special, as they have been at First Choice Liquor.

    • +1

      Added to the list. Thanks.

      • +2

        No sir - thank you

    • add cheap vodka to make your own alcoholic ginger beer

  • +20

Man I'd love to smash a few of these but 10 teaspoons of sugar per bottle is a little too much

    • +5

Have 5 teaspoons at a time - share the other 5 with someone.

      • Best lifehack I've heard.. too bad it's too hard to pull off :|

    • Jesus

    • +1

      Maybe it's a concentrate?

    • +4

Always wished they'd make a sugar-free version of 1-2 of their flavoured sparkling varieties.

They make sugar-free/diet varieties of their alcoholic cola/ginger beer and of the regular ginger beer/sarsaparilla but nothing for the fruity ones.

      • Nexba do a good job, but pricey as hell.

    • Diabetes in a bottle

I've switched to the diet ones, but on the occassion that I drink a sugar one I cut it with soda water. These are so sweet that even at 30% concentration they still taste quite good

  • +6

Guava is indeed the best but the amount of sugar in these drinks is pretty crazy.

    • +2

The sugar content in this is pretty standard for soft drinks no?

      • Yes, although a lot of people drink diet drinks these days. The Bundaberg drinks just don’t hide the sugar as well as other full sugar ones (maybe less food acids)

        • +1

diet and sugar free, I know a Co-worker who seems to drink litres of Pepsi Max a day, which okay not great but could be worse like full sugar coke. Still…that's just a lot of damn soda addiction

  • +6

$15.60 / 12 = $1.3 per bottle, same price as the 4 packs in WWS ($5.2 / 4 = $1.3). Considering WWS has gift cards discount, weekly bonus, etc.

    • +2

Amazon is price-matching Woolworths, so you are right. With S&S, the price on Amazon is $14.04 / 12 = $1.17 though. GC and Rewards points will bring down the price of WW too, so it's fairly comparable.

    • +4

Woolies price is $4.70 per 4 pack for me in Vic, so cheaper than Amazon

    • Yes, but Woolies/Coles don't stock the Peach which is my wife's favourite.

    • +1

Yep. This post is mostly a popularity post. Dealwise there's not much here, especially considering you can't mix and match flavors to fulfil the min order quantity.

  • +2

48% of daily sugar intake per serving, no thanks

    • +2

Just have 2 of these and then starve

      • +1

But that leaves you 4% short.

        • +3

That’s a good thing… calorie deficit so you’d effectively be on a diet

    • why did you click on the deal then?

  • +4

    Too much sugar

  • +2

No ginger beer? like the most popular flavour?

  • +4

Amazon seems to just be following the Coles special on Bundaberg ginger beer this week.

I dislike Coles as much as the next person (especially after their repeated and astonishingly bad butchering of my online order from last Friday), but in terms of actually rewarding the retailer who goes out on a limb and cuts prices we probably shouldn't be funneling money to the copycat discounter.

    • It's standard for Amazon to match most of the half-price specials of coles/woolworths.
Amazon does have their own good specials and tbh I thinks it's great they're actively trying to compete and match prices.
Not to mention not everyone has access to a coles/woolworths with the full range in their locality so Amazon matching means they have access to these items at a decent price.

      • +3

I accept your local availability point, of course.

But I'm digging in on my point about how if we reward the imitator we don't get good deals

        • +3

I agree.. I would appreciate Amazon more if they initiated the heavy discounts and not just 'matched' someone. If parking at Woolies and Coles near me (and most suburbs really) wasn't a nightmare, they should get my business instead of Amazon in such cases - something they/ councils need to seriously think about as the availability (and ease) of parking or comfort of their store access have been least of their concerns even if they are crucial elements of the customer satisfaction in any retail business. These aren't good signs either if they want to compete with Amazon. The fight has to come from both ends.

  • +1

It's kind of crazy they dont try and make a sugar free one. I would be buying them in boxes, they are so tasty but the sugar content is off the chart bad

    • +2

Bestie there is a sugar free one. Saw it at the supermarket today. Also OP has listed and linked diet ginger beer?

    • +1

This!!! Even if they did Sugar free for 1-2 of the fruity flavours i'd be in heaven. The weirdest part is they do sugar free/diet verseions of their alcoholic cola & ginger beer, sarsaparilla and ginger beer so clearly got the formulas for it down. Must just be a volume thing? but surely they could offer just a couple of the flavours sugar free.

    • +1

Doesn’t even have to be sugar free honestly, half sugar would be fine with me

      • +1

Agree but it won't taste as good then. Also, being sugar-free isn't enough. The ingredient that replaces sugar should be healthy, otherwise it doesn't make sense.

        • whats the unhealthy sugar subtitute lmao

          • @abjsdhasehasee: There are a plenty. I don't know which ones the 'diet' drinks use though. Check here: https://draxe.com/nutrition/artificial-sweeteners/

            • +1

@virhlpool: hahaha , 'draxe.com' 'ANCIENT nutrition', article written by the websites cofounder, who is a Chiropractic doctor, a 'Doctor of Natural medicine' and a Certified Nutritionist. You could not have cited a worse source

              • +1

@abjsdhasehasee: I just cited what came up on top. There are heaps of resources. I am not revealing a rocket science here. Artificial sweeteners is a broad category.. a very few natural sweeteners like stevia.

                • +1

@virhlpool: sure and what comes up on top is what gets the most engagement, because its bs. You can find hundreds of studies citing 0 long term health downside, and yet the very few, often flawed studies are what get exposed. If you believe theres some large conspiracy theorist about getting us addicted to artifical blah blah, and then go on to drink standard bundaberg and macdonalds.. thats crazy

    • +1

There's a diet ginger beer with less sugar and tbh it objectively tastes worse than the normal one. The only soft drink that tastes pretty much the same sugar or not is Coke or Pepsi.

      • And that took years if not decades of R&D to get it right, Bundaberg has got some catching up to do.

        • The natural, least harmful alternative has always been Stevia.

As for the economics (or sanity) of using an alternative to cane sugar…from a brewer in Bundaberg of all places?
          Can't see it happening.

  • That’s an unreal price, it’s cheaper than what locals get it for at the factory.
They have almost finished their new factory which is absolutely huge compared to where they are now so I expect to see some great things coming from Bundy

    • +2

If that's true, they are getting stiffed big time. Pre covid it was $4.50 a pack every second week in Vic.

  • $19.56 now for passion fruit.

  • +2

When did Ozbargain go soft? Who cares how much sugar

    • +1

exacty, funny how people are so scared of sugar but happily consume heaps of saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium.

      • +2

ikr, like why care about one aspect of your health at all, just (profanity) it and die

    • +1

To be fair though, more sugar leads to health issues and more financial cost in the long run. E.g. More visits to the hospital, weight gain, diabetes, illnesses etc. all with their own consequences.

I love these though and sugar content is typical for these types of drinks. Moderation and usage are key.

  • +1

Pity the regular one isn't on sale.

    • Yeah, the ginger beer.

  • 15cents difference between this and woolworths 4 pack…not much of a saving in my book…

    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/801323?goo…

    • +2

not much of a saving in my book…

      but okay in my belly

  • +1

Why doesn't Bundaberg use plastic bottles instead of glass? It would probably make it a lot cheaper and you can still recycle plastic.

    • +1

      correct.
and less risk when drop break etc

    • +4

I suspect their market research has identified a significant portion of the market (myself shamelessly included) who would happily pay a small premium for the superior experience of drinking from glass.

  • What's good besides the guava? thinking of trying the Mango and Lemonade…

  • +3

So much chat about sugar…. yet everyone loves a KFC hack? You've changed Ozbargain.

    • Ain’t it the truth.

Especially in response to a seller who already offer Diet Sarsparilla, Diet Ginger Beer and Diet Lemon Lime and Bitters.

  • Man, never diet sarsaparilla -sad panda face-

  • weird guava no more S&S but can buy normal. why ?

  • +1

Got some diet ginger for my pregnant wife - thanks!

  • Don't even have a Sarsaparilla listing for the 375mls </3

  • Why is blood orange not included in the deal? Easily the best one

  • The creaming soda is delicious!

  • Isn't this usually ~$10 on sale

    • No.. Used to be $13'ish (and hence $11'ish for S&S) pre-Covid.
