  • I see the maximum cancellation cost of $35 plan is 420.
What happens with device? how is that dealt with? paid out in full? eg 20.79x24m?

    • Yeah i guess you have to pay for the device separately.

      • i got in touch with customer support.

        apparently

'If you cancel the service you need to pay the device repayment charges in full and the discount will be removed.'

So $420+$984 (full payout of phone).

Will wait for a cheaper outright from JB to hit sub $600…maybe closer to EoFY

  • How do you add both the Google 7 and the special Flybuys SIM plan to the cart?

There is no special Flybuys promo plan for selection here: https://www.optus.com.au/mobile/phones/google/pixel-7?contra…

  • International Talk & Text Not Included.

  • I put this up before as a comment in the hn deal, and people whinged…

    • +1

People don't need a reason to whinge. Although i get that some people tend to use more data.

This worked for me as my partner was going to spend at least $650 outright on the Pixel 7 in the coming months + minimum $25 on her prepaid plan. 20gb is enough data for her use case. And this works out to be $50/month with the FB points factored in.

I remember back in the day I paid $49/month for a Nokia N95 with 3 (now Vodafone). Pixel 7 with 20gb data at $50 was a no brainer for me.

    • And for the record, I still don't think it's a great deal. At least yours was a 7 Pro though, which the 7a doesn't as directly compare to like the 7.

    • That deal is better than this one IMO.

  • 25,000 Flybuys points (worth $120).

Should be $125. Are they taking a cut?

  • Looks like the Flybuys plan doesn't have the "Endless Data with no excess data charges" like the normal Optus plans.

Keep an eye on your data usage or you'll get stung.

  • $747 for the 7A + Pixel A Series Buds @ Officeworks according to leak, so RRP $749 - 10% off GC's = $674 + $10/mth for 20GB plan = $914 with bonus buds. Compare to $1339 for the Pixel 7.

Oh and no 24 month contract because this isn't 2010 any more.

    • What's the best method to get the 10% GC benefit, pennypincher?

      • Regularly on classifieds at 10% off or Coles/Woolworths.
