Dyson V8 wouldn't impress Special Officer Doofy. Any corded device vacuums better than V8.
The thing with V8 and any cordless stick is that it's always handy and ready to use for 5-15 mins of its battery.
I haven't use this particular Miele, but I 100% trust the brand.
I have three Miele bagged vacuum cleaners (2000W+) and they are outstanding, especially when used with a turbohead…..
C3s are great but I have had two die after 3 years. Anyhow cat dog head is a must
How does this compare with the Cat & Dog? Ours still going strong after 10+ years, I would not buy anything else in the future. Though I'd probably prefer to buy at a local department store in case of a warranty claim (as unlikely as that is).
Cat and dog is just the head. Vacuums the same.
And bags from AliExpress is all you need
I'm using a red one thats 10+ years old too. The only things that have broken are the vacuum level selection switch and the head eventually got a bit gross, so we hotwired the switch and bought a new head. It's outlasted newer cheaper vacuums and still works brilliantly.

Another recommendation for Miele vacuums. Smashes the overpriced/overhyped Dyson any day of the week.
Do they make a model with the motorised power head? Got the cat and dog red version but with the turbine power head works great. And you can get the bags on TGGC for a discount

Cordless vacuums for me are only for convenience of quickly vacuuming a spot area. They are useless for whole house cleans as the battery just doesn't last. I tend to vacuum properly every 2 weeks or so which a cordless battery just wouldn't endure.
Secondly, the suction you'd get out of a decent bagged corded vacuum is much more than those cordless vacuums.
Cordless vacuums have their place, but IMO are not a replacement for a corded bagged vacuum.
These Miele C3 vacuums are great. Much better than Dyson corded. Much quieter (can easily talk over them) and the suction is great. Bags last ages (no messy bagless emptying) and can get bulk pack of Miele bags on ebay too.

Ah k. But yeah I'd still overall prefer better suction of this Miele.
But as said below, investigate other options to power the V7 - such as no name batteries etc. You could then have this and get the V7 up and running cheaply.
You can get a tool battery convertor or just no name brand battery…
Otherwise this is a much better vacuum, if i had to have 1, I'd pick the miele for sure. Dysons are so weak
If you've got Ryobi, Makita, etc 18V power tools, you can just get an adapter.

Same here. And I find a V7 vacuum every 1-2 days (5-6 minutes) keeps the place much cleaner than a weekly corded vacuum.
This is a good vacuum. Makes my friends handheld dyson feel likes a kids toy

We have a c2 for use every now and then and a handheld for every day. The handheld no way replaces the Miele but more convenient.
Also can get aftermarket bags of eBay. Don't need to get branded bags
I was buying compatible star bags from bunnings which did the job. Seem to have stopped selling them though, so ebay it is.
I had a Miele but didn't like the need for bags, and I found the turbohead really difficult to clean of hair. Maybe my family sheds a lot, but it was not self-cleaning and needed me to cut the hair off the brush. I prefer the replacement Dyson, their turbohead seems to self-clean very well
But in terms of build quality, and sheer suction, the Miele is the winner

Not really true with the heads - some heads 'self clean' and can be a huge difference.
Totally disagree re the bags. I found it a pain (if not impossible) to empty the bags, and the drum on the Dyson is pretty easy to empty (its a weird design, not exactly the smartest IMO but it does the job)
Re the turbohead, the Dyson requires me to clean it every 6 months, it just doesn't seem to get tangled (and when it does, I can just remove the entire brush and clean it that way). The Miele required me to clean it every single time i vaccum, and i needed a pair of scissors to do it

I used to carry around our old Hoover and whenever my mum vacuumed it would take her twice as long because she pulled it behind her - she didn't want to/couldn't carry it.
I would be willing to bet my missus wouldn't either.

silly question, as I never own a bag-type vacuum machine before. Will it need to be replaced after the bag is full or just dump the inside bag and reuse it for a certain of time?
I replace the bags, some people try and modify the bags so you can reuse them but I think that's quite messy.
I buy aftermarket Miele compatible cardboard bags from Bunnings (pretty cheap) and couldn't be happier. And I occasionally buy some replacement air filters from AliExpress.

I would never use any other vacuum. Dyson is a mere sweeper in comparison, great for daily dog hair tidy ups but not much more. Miele with a fresh bag will pull the nails up through the carpet.
I find many anti-Dyson comments in all Miele vacuum deals but not the other way around!

Not even sure that cost is even a factor, I think it's just convenience vs inconvenience.
Don't get me wrong there are plenty of things I dislike about our Dyson (pissweak suction, short battery, high battery/charger fail rate, etc..) but the simple fact I can just grab it off the wall and do a quick once over makes all the differenc.
Not sure what others experience is re: Dyson batteries, but I've had 2 fail in a 14mth period and a charger fail in that same time.

For the corded vacs, I prefer buying a backpack-based vac. I think it will be more convenient to carry that around the house.
Still have to be careful though with backpack vacs. These are generally designed for commercial spaces where there's lots of room.
I can imagine in a house a back pack vacuum is at risk of being hit into walls, furniture, etc as you swing around in smaller spaces.
