I Have a $125USD Gift Card Applied to My Amazon US Account - What Can I Purchase?

Are there any digital goods I can purchase from Amazon US for use here in Aus?
I looked at the Apple gift cards but they're only eligible to be applied to the US App Store

  • You don’t need to restrict yourself to digital goods. There’s tonnes of physical stuff that Amazon ship from USA to Australia.

    • Problem is that the shipping will take up most of the cost

        False.

"International orders of eligible items over $49, dispatched and sold by Amazon US, Amazon UK or Amazon Germany are eligible for free international delivery."

        • If ordering from amazon.com.au

The gift card is for Amazon US - meaning I can only redeem it on amazon.com

          • @tommynolips: Ah, understood. You're buying Amazon US with US currency, and then shipping here. Why not try to sell the gift card to someone in the US?

            • @redgymhero: I looked at the reddit gift card exchange and decided it was too risky.

          • @tommynolips: Even with shipping ordering from Amazon US is cheaper than ordering a US item from Amazon AU in my experience. So many things I used to order from Amazon US just because of how cheap it was. Exchange rate isn't exactly favourable right now, but things are still cheaper. I still get my photo paper from Amazon US just because it's cheaper than Amazon AU or any other AU retailer.

        • And I think now you can even get international shipping on orders from Amazon US, without a minimum spend

          • @redgymhero: I've added a plethora of different items to my Amazon US cart this morning, with my address set to Australia. books, cookware, RAM … nothing is eligible for free international shipping. and i've even got Amazon Prime on my Amazon US account

@tommynolips: Yea I imagine that only works on your Amazon AU subscription. Sucks! Good luck finding something

@tommynolips: Look closely though. Because I’ve ordered quite a few things from US to AU using US gift cards. I’ve found the pricing on the USA site to be cheaper than AU even after postage. It looks to me like they bake the ‘free ‘ postage into the selling price in the AU site.

@mooney: And yes make sure you’re matching currency for currency. :)
