  • Note Lycamobile use the Telstra 2G data network.

    • +2

In my experience, it is substantially better than the Vodafone 3G in some areas of Sydney (phone call quality)

    • 2G are they really usable to browse?

      • +1

        No.

yes i have a lyca mobile for international calls and roaming, i can check emails using the app and facebook, twitter…., but goodluck watching videos and streaming stuff… lol

10000x better than Vodafone coverage, never less than 4/5 bars…

    • Is it Telstra shutting down their 2G network?

      • Telstra is shutting down their 2100Mhz 3G network which was also used by the former 3Mobile firm.

I just did a speed test i hit a max speed of 10KB/s, we should sue Lyca for false advertising 3GB, since it is not achievable in a month… lol

        • Wont win cos the maths works out :P

  • 2G?? Useless.
Better off with the $30 Unlimited Amaysim deal with 4Gb (that ends tonight).

Yeah 2G is painful, like going to dial-up from ADSL.

      • So can only use it to call.

        • Yeah calls are fine, just don't expect to even get close to using 3GB :P

        • In that case no use with 3GB with that speed can't even use 300MB :p

        • no chance of 3GB as far as I have tried, but coverage is simply the BEST !

        • Knowing that no one can use up the 3GB provided, I'm surprised they didn't just make it 10GB or Unlimited.

    • If you want a taste of 2G on Android turn on the setting Use 2G networks only. Slooow.
