Was about to sign up for this and saw the coupon code section, did my due diligence and googled for a code and lo and behold there is one.

Strange though, it comes up in the search results on google but couldn't really see it anywhere on the sites themselves. Either way, might help someone else if you're planning to sign up.

  • Is there a waiting period? I have a blood screen next week and wondering if I sign up now…I can forgo the 200 cost

    • Nah as soon as you sign up it's active.

    • If you cancel before the year is over, you have to pay full price on everything you've done (i.e. consult, blood tests, etc), so you're paying $472.50 for a wellness blood test (i.e. just a basic blood test).

      • Use temp visa card

        • You can try that, but they also have your full name, address, phone number, email which they pass on to a third-party debt collection agency. Also, it's not always very convenient to cancel.

I was a member with Healthy Pets Plus for a couple of years - it is handy during the puppy stage as you should easily be ahead on immunisations and visits. Dropped it once the dog got a bit older and went with pet insurance. Just be aware that if you drop the coverage before your 12 month period is up you may be labile to reimburse them for any of the services you took advantage of - I believe this is in the fine print (or was).

    • What's your thoughts on the Pet Insurance?
What insurance did you go with?

      • I found a cheap deal with Medibank Plus (also a private health member with them) after spending a year with RSPCA. Not had to use it for anything that serious yet but did get about 60% back on a $900 incident where we though the dog had ingested something.

Kinda scary these big corporations have taken over veterinary industries 🤑

  • This saved my arse when I adopted my last dog, a 9yo border collie, and couldn't get insurance. Umlimited consults with regular vet and included annual vaccination, and free consults at AEC in SA (24hr hospital) which is $370. Paid for itself and then some.

  • I signed up recently without a discount for my new puppy. A couple weeks later I was checking something in the terms and conditions and found all their discount codes are listed there, but seemingly not anywhere else on the site. I contact support about getting one of the codes applied, took a long time for a response but they were happy to apply a code for me. Worth asking them if you're already a member.

  • If this included pet insurance then would be a good thing but from what I've researched tgis isnt that good.

My pet insurance paid for itself as desexing and vaccines are covered

    • Which pet insurance are you with, and you recommend?

I would recommend it for pets not desexed yet and planning to as the desex+annual vaccine was the same amount I paid for insurance over the year so basically got insurance for free. I also got three months free which was how I got it down to like $600 over the year on their top cover with everything ticked (They may do this special again).

Past that you have to do the research as there are some pet insurances now where you can claim on the spot instead of like mine where you pay first and then claim it in hopes the insurance pays you back.
