Video showing size of case if it helps anyone https://youtu.be/QZEOJLEaH4Y

  • I got a similar case without foam a while back. Does anyone have any experience getting foam or something similar that they can cut to size?

You can get much better padded dividers which use velcro and allow you to reconfigure as often as you like. Foam is only useful if you never plan on changing/upgrading equipment.

  • Does the orange one include the pick out foat? Images show it pretty empty.

    • The description below does say it's "1150 with Foam". But looks like it's OOS from Amazon AU now.

      • Yeah but thats why im concerned as the pictures just show a top and bottom layer of foam and no pick out foam.

FWIW I received my orange case order today and it did come with the pick out foam.

  • Alternative ToolPRO at SCA $24.99

Although I'm sure there would be a reason why Pelican is more expensive.

the toolpro plastic isn't of the same quality, i had some as panniers on my motorcycle and they cracked open on impact

  • The AEG quick stack organiser for $39 is often used for store a camera and other bits - better value and quality I think

    • Thanks for that idea. Might have to go out and grab yet another one.. 😅

    • It doesn't have a pressure valve afaik, which makes it less ideal for sensitive camera equipment. I wouldn't use it for my cameras.

      • Wouldn't be on the road use, most likely in-house/workshop to store extra camera gear.

Already have some roadcases for in-field use.. 😅

Also, these would be awkward AF to carry clipped together anyway..

      • Excuse my ignorance but why is a pressure valve a good idea?

        • +1

It's to help with opening the case if you're into taking gear to different altitudes or when travelling on a plane, while still maintaining it's "waterproofness".

However the AEG quickstack organisers are still rated at IP55, used in outdoor traffic control cabinets and railway boxes and able to keep water out for 55 minutes above a 10 metre submerged depth. You probably wouldn't want to be doing any travelling with it at almost 4kg each though..
