    I had a real negative experience with Barber House and vey reluctant to order with them again… placed an order, no update, no response to numerous emails, no return of voicemail..no order received!

    Only fortunate thing was that I paid with PayPal and they refunded me.

    Because every post of this store receives a lot of controversy I thought I’d also post some feedback of my experience with this store.

    I ordered this year during the Easter sale. Order was made on the 8th of April - website promised same day shipping. I received a call from them after the order which was strange but it was to confirm I wanted the items I ordered.

    I felt it was weird on the call they were really pushing other products, I can understand and appreciate being suggested other products I might not have known of. But at the end of the day I ordered the items because I wanted them, and I had to mention in the call and even afterwards via message that I was still happy with my order for that communication to finally be accepted. Afterwards, they said it will be posted that day.

    In the end I didn’t receive an Auspost notification the products were shipped until the 20th, and that was with me following up after a week with not hearing back. Products ended up arriving a few days later. Although I note the products had a sticker of their store which was covering a sticker on each of the lids saying something like “barber sample, not for individual resale”.

    As a whole, I won’t be ordering again because from start to finish the ordeal all seemed super weird and I’m not sure if they were trying to dissuade me by selling me goods which they don’t actually have an agreement to sell or if they simply had no stock and gave me sample stock from their barbershop?

      Thankyou for your feed back. We were trying to assist as you bought the same brand although two complete opposite finishes. We spent over 30 minutes on the phone with you as we do it all the time. We didn’t want you to waste your money. “WE ARE Barber and do it all the time”.

      We have plenty of stock and are approved sellers in this brand. When you purchase this brand (You get Free Stock) Every 12 you Buy. Standard Practice in. Most Brands. They Call it Barbers Bench Stock. We don’t use it because we use the LARGER TINS. They put this sticker on it to point it out. Although it’s fully sealed like the others

      We also have 3-4 walk ins on a daily basis just for this brand.

        Again mentioned in the phone call I use two different finishes for different occasions. I appreciate a call to confirm that, but again as you mentioned it was a 30 minute call, which I felt was 30 minute of trying to be dissuaded out of purchasing a product I had already researched into and wanted to try out. I understand you wanting to try and help out and I appreciate that, but as feedback I feel as I customer, I was being silenced in the whole matter when in reality it’s my hair, I deal with it everyday so as a customer I’d prefer if you would instead just listen and respect the choices I make.

        As for the products I received, regardless of the reasons why I felt super uncomfortable receiving something which had a sticker saying it wasn’t supposed to be resold but also having that sticker being covered up.

        It's not about it not being fully sealed, or that you use the larger tins. Covering the Barber sample, not for individual resale sticker and then reselling it is downright dodgy.

    I read all the above but still decided to purchase this. At 11:06 I got a confirmation email, at 12:29 I got a 'your order has shipped', an hour later an AusPost email said 'on its way'.

      Indeed. The rep is clearly not a slick, sophisticated communicator trained in social media. She is also clearly an ESL. I suspect the OP is running a barber shop and also selling some "gear" online on the side for extra revenue. They don't appear to be some super-sophisticated, large operation, so while I can understand the frustration when orders get delayed, this needs to be taken into account. Yet the pile on here by some posters has been disproportionate and I think unreasonable. For comparison sake, dealing with Samsung, who are a massive multi-national company, is beyond appalling (at least in Australia). So, calling these guys scammers or having the worst customer service, by some posters earlier in the thread, is a bit rich.

        As someone who purchased from them and posted feedback today on this post, I genuinely agree with you and think your points are valid, because let’s be honest it’s just hair products, it’s not the end of the world.

        I would though like to add that I think it’s worth pointing out that given this store wants to use the Ozbargain community to drum up business, as community members we also have the right to raise awareness in relation to misrepresentations they have made in their posts and any problematic behaviours people have experienced with the store when trying to give feedback.

        I think most things that have been pointed out are valid things which people purchasing in would care about and can then proceed with their own judgement. But I also feel like everything which has been posted is also valid feedback which the business itself can take on as ways to improve, unfortunately it seems like they appear more keen on defending themselves than acknowledging that there’s anything wrong.

    I bought shampoo a few weeks ago, it came after a week or so. As a guy said above, it's hair products. Shipping was free so I have no complaints at all. Good products and a good price.

  • Wow. I think their rep needs to take a Udemy course on PR. If this is how they react to a forum, I shudder to think how they treat customers who are supposed to be “family”.

      You are correct. I am very aware that everyone can see this and It might look bad. We treat our “clients” like gold.

      The issue why I had to get on the defence is if you look back in the promos we kept quite and ignored for so long on the forum from 2-4 members who have not purchased from us / slamming us / calling us scammers.

      We will go back to being quiet and assisting. Please see what & who happens. Makes us not want to run heavily discount promos.
