I've always thought these look like ssd's lol

I have the 'beast canyon' (wanted an upgradeable CPU) and its been great (six fans can get a bit noisy)! Ordered this for my wifes home-office because she wants something that takes up minimal desk space.

      • And that they do! The size of these and what it's capable of is fantastic! Wish they had these 20years ago lol

      • Beast canyon here also - after a couple of years of service still super impressed.

          Hello @Ramrunner
Do you find the fans 'ramp up' every 10 or so minutes for a bit and then settle down again?
I'm used to it now, but if you have the settings that top it from happening - very interested to learn.

I'm talking about when the PC is not being used, sitting idle. Not when I open something resource hungry.

  • Need a NUC to run ESXi, any model on special?

cheaper. NUC extreme. put in your own GPU. upgradable. yes slightly bigger

It is - however you need to then add a GPU to it to make it worth even running. So that's another few hundred $$$ on top.
Thats the one I have 'beast canyon' and I put a ASUS 3060 into it.

get 6700 for $430 it runs circles around 2060 and beats 3060

        • +1

sure does - i had to buy during covid for wfh tax reasons - so went with the 3060 as the price was ok for what i needed

      • nice form factor! and not a bad deal, considering 4070

  • Free delivery to where? Not Sydney for a start $16, and certainly not to Perth $20.

    • +1

I added it to my cart to see what the price it and it said free - sorry if I am wrong

      • +1

No need to apologise. I wanted to make sure that the change from "free delivery" to "+ delivery" in the title is correct. If there are postcodes with free delivery, please add it to your description.

  • I presume it's a mobile 2060?

    • I just updated the OP with a spec sheet

    • +1

      Yes, it's a Max-P (max-performance) variant running at 115W.

  • I’ve still got my 1st gen NUC

    • nice - which model was that?

  • Just to confirm this is everything in 1 package ready to go? Always wondered about nucs as opposed to laptop for shifting around my work space and docking between multiple monitors I can have setup 🤔

Brought this a week ago, its great, so small, can barely hear it, even when gaming it's very quiet

    • Are you running it on Windows 11? The specs seem to indicate there is no TPM for this unit.
I'm wondering once it arrives, if I have to bypass the TPM check when installing Windows.

      • I installed windows 10 home on it, and windows has said I can upgrade it to 11 so no issues getting on Windows 11 I guess? if you can't install Windows 11 directly maybe just install 10 then upgrade to 11?
