Keg Master Super Deluxe Kegerator Fridge 220L $1,199.99 ($800 off) Delivered @ Costco Online (Membership Required)

120

Bit of a niche product. Keg King have a similar product for $1575. It actually has the same model number but has an extra castor. Everything else seems to be the same? The manual is here if you want to read a bit more. One big thing going for the Costco one is that it has delivery included. The 3 castor one directly from Keg King costs $224.85 for delivery to me in SE Qld. Does anyone have any experience with Keg King? I guess one good thing about Costco, if you don't like anything about it you can probably just take it back.

Super Deluxe is the highest end commercial grade, under counter, keg fridge you can find. Perfect for use within Australia because these powerful fridges have an ambient working temperature up to 43°C.

This product features:

  • Stainless steel exterior and interior (304SS internal and 430SS external)

You're a generous person and want to pour nice cold ones for randoms that walk by your place?

      • +1

Ambient working temperature up to 43°C

Just put it on the nature strip

I've got one in the dining room, currently dispensing a dark ale and an All In double IPA. You will notice two big increases: your beer consumption and your waistline.

      • and electricity bill :-)

      • What’s the life of a keg? Trying to gauge if 2 beers a day will see me through a keg before it goes off.

        • +4

I don't know the official answer, but a lot longer than you'll have one for is what I'd say. When brewing into bottles you'll want to leave certain types unrefrigerated for months to condition. So in a fridge with a perfectly sterilised keg… months. You should be able to get 40 pints out of a 19L cornelius keg.

        • Tbh of you only drink 2 beers a day is not worth it.
And it's cheaper to buy stubbies than 50L a commercial keg.
If you brew your own then it's time to start crunching numbers.

          • +2

@B-Man02: Not sure where you live, but Hawkers do $300 50L kegs which is my go to for the home bar. Way cheaper than slabs for that beer.
2 Brothers and a few others sell kegs direct.

            • @Wezzer: Which Hawkers beer do you recommend?

              • +1

@bennybaubles: I really like the Hazy Pale Ale for an easy one on tap, at $315 is cheap and if you sign up I think its 10% off your first order, which includes kegs. There is a $150 refundable keg deposit too.
The Hazy IPA at 7% is tasty, but keg volumes it gets a bit much towards the end.
I’ve just got the Stout recently and its pretty thin, but I’ve got it on Nitro, so that adds some body.

        • 2 pots a day and the keg will be fine, keep it under pressure. 2 pints a day, even better. But it does depend on the beer, flavours in stouts tend to become milder in a shorter timeframe. Hazy beers will become clear and have less flavour as the sediment settles, unless you regularly roll the keg around, which is a pain. If in VIC, hit up Hawkers for the cheapest kegs around.

        • Most local breweries will tell you to consume within 6 months as long as it's kept cold.

        • How big are the 2 beers? Glass, pint, jug??

          • @BlasterBoy: Tinnies, 375ml

            • @cycloneaussie: That is very responsible of you!
I have been home brewing for years, and refuse to have a keg fridge as I cannot be trusted!
              I wish i could be happy with 2 cans a night :(

    Look at kegland https://www.kegland.com.au/collections/commercial
No glass front but that's probably better…. less cleaning and more efficient.

    • Thanks for an alternative. I have no idea about these things.

    • +2

I like their model with a keg on one side and bottle/can shelves on the other - I still like to bottle-condition some brews to get some age on them, especially the dark beers. https://www.kegland.com.au/products/2-tap-one-sider-series-x… - they've got a "domestic" and "commercial" version of it, though no idea what the actual difference is, since they seem to be the same price…

  • +1

Kegland do a version of this that works out a bit cheaper, since neither kegerator includes keg or CO2 in the base price, from what I can tell. I can't speak to the relative quality of the fridge, though, even though they're both listed as "commercial". Not sure how useful a 43 degree working temp is - be rare to find that actually inside someone's house, especially someone with the spare coin for one of these - you'd think if your house was getting over 40 degrees in summer you'd buy an aircon first, or some insulation.

some may choose to have it outside during BBQs or have an undercover outdoor entertainment area when it remains all year round, garage (mancave)…no aircon etc etc.

      • True enough, I guess.

I second Kegland, super easy to deal with and orders fulfilled very quick. I've got the grand deluxe two door fridge and cant fault it. $690 more than this and three times the size. Keglands single ones are cheaper and come with taps, gas etc.

  • Can build your own for a lot less than this.

Take it a step further, brew it yourself and use soda kegs and you'll be getting pissed off (hopefully) better quality beer for next to nothing.

Miss my old homebrew setup and kegerator.

  • Where do I get keg refills if I am not brewing?

    • +2

Depends where you are - there are lots of places who will sell a keg of beer. But if you're getting a keg fridge, IMO you should get into brewing as well. The process is as good as the end result imo.

    • This is Oz bargains…. Your better off buying cartons than buying keg beer.

    • We have two kegs.
One we rotate with kegs from local breweries. This costs between $300 - $400 for a great Pilsner or IPA etc.
The other one we consider our "House Beer". It's not boutique, but it's pretty damn good for the money at around $200 per keg - thelocalbrewhouse.com.au

  • whats the going rate on a keg of beer?

    • VB and most swill $450, Balter and the like $480ish. Straight from an independant brewer, way less, $320-$350 dependent on the beer and %.

  • +2

make your own beer. Less than $20 for 20L and so easy to do. Pressure ferment and job done.

    • +1

so about $1000 for the kegerator and another $1000 for kegs and fermenters and brewzilla - is that about right?

      • +1

When he says pressure ferment surely he means ferment in corny keg because they are pressure rated .
You can buy a second hand freezer and a temp controller for less than $200 … Then you need a vessel to brew in… Doesn't need to be too expensive … Then you gotta clean and sanitize ,brew the beer ,clean and sanitize , wait for it to ferment , transfer , clean and sanitize and then more cleaning did I mention cleaning and sanitizing ?

      • +2

That's one way to do it, or conversely work your way up to that. I just started with a Coopers starter kit which gives you everything you need to make beer. From there you can decide if you're happy to keep using the $20 malt extract tins (which honestly still make decent beer, especially kegged), go up to a $50/$60 fresh wort kit or go all the way and Brewzilla your way through your own recipe. $100 a keg roughly if you get sick of bottling (which you will).
