Oh, and my suggestion for anyone getting these for the first time, you do still need to clean these regularly, and replace every year or 2, since hard stuff gets stuck in them and scratches your floor anyway if you don't.
i use my baby's old socks as furniture protector. turns out pretty cute actually (and easy to wash)
