Everyday Carry (EDC) Utility Organiser Pouch

Does anyone in the community have an EDC (Everyday Carry) pouch? For me it is a compact and convenient way to carry essential items that I use regularly, such as my phone, wallet, keys, and other small tools or gadgets. The benefits of an EDC pouch are numerous, as it allows you to keep your important items organized and easily accessible, whether you're at home, work, or out and about. Additionally, having an EDC pouch ensures that you always have the tools you need on hand, which can be especially useful in emergency situations. Furthermore, by having a designated pouch for your everyday carry items, you can avoid misplacing or losing important items, saving you time and frustration in the long run. Overall, an EDC pouch is a smart investment for anyone who wants to stay prepared and organized in their daily life. I see it has always been very militarised in the States. Looking on the street, even people in wheelchairs carry one and so do musicians who do quick change over of strings during gigs. Is there a trend that is happening here? Personally it is also an expression of individuality.. pretty cool topic to discuss what you guys or gals carry.

    So… a bag?

I’m a woman and we’re brainwashed to think we need handbags as little girls. So yeah, I have bags.

Just a phone. It has my drivers licence, credit cards, car key, house key. Not sure what else I need.

An EDC pouch? I'll say it a few times so google searches pick up on any recommendations that follow. In fact, do you have a good suggestion of an EDC pouch for us?

    • As I mentioned, it's about putting your essentials that you feel assured of before you start your day you don't load up items of no common use to you. Like my musician mates who load up strings in their EDC bag who do quick changeover for their gigs, mates in wheelchairs who carry their everyday needs in a pouch under their wheelchair even photographers carry one, some loading their camera lenses, films. There is always a theme that expresses the individual. It's not always only about keys and cellphone.

I have been in situations where mates I know carry small pouches and always ready for a situation such as opening a booze stubbie cap, a utility tool kit, bicycle repair kit. It's not about filling your jeans pockets and feeling uncomfortable as. I have seen many rummage through their pockets and not come up with anything useful for situations. It's good to be prepared for most common situations.

    • I would imagine someone carrying a bicycle repair kit EVERYWHERE they go (without a bike) to be someone that is deeply, deeply disturbed. How afraid of life must someone be to BE PREPARED at all times of every day? Sounds exhausting.

      • lol.. no one would carry a bike repair kit without riding a bike .. duhz… That would defeat the purpose.

Just wanting to see if there has been any new innovative ideas .. it's pointless to discuss if nothing new is happening on the scene. It's just that in my job as an occupation therapist, I have seen so many forms of EDC happening and I wonder if people in the community has picked up on any new trend.

    • It's got history from the start of time..in egyptian times, they carried tiny tools, combs.. but as generations past rebranded to be called everyday carry.. EDC

'EDC' is just a blanket term for pocketable trinkets liked by Asian guys on YouTube (btw use my promo code for ridgewallet.com!). Unless you're a tradie or an eshay, you don't need a bumbag or a toolbelt. Those examples you mentioned are hobbies. Musicians have gig bags because they're already traveling with instruments and need things like capos or picks, they don't just carry spare strings to the shop. Cyclists sometimes carry tools or patch kits because… they have bikes. You're an OT, not a prepper. You don't actually need a multitool, compass, binoculars, paracord, fishing line, bandaids, or rape whistle permanently on your person.

  • Over a decade ago I tried one of those pouches that goes into a cargo pocket but didn’t like it. These days when I am working I just use cargo pockets and a leatherman on my belt.

    • What sheathe mate? Or are you using the clip adapter?

I do have two of the stock wave sheathes but found them to be pretty garbage for quick access and return so rather just have it floating around in my hip pocket…

  • This is such a weird post.
Pants with pockets. A backpack, a messenger bag, a bum bag. Having a dedicated 'pouch' for your stuff seems like a bum bag with extra cost.
