If you have a Google One subscription you'll also get 3 or 10% of the cost back as credit. If you refund you'll lose that credit.
I think this one from Telstra comes with a pixel watch, so it might be a better offer
The page says that the Watch offer has ended on April 12
The discount applies to other storage sizes too
Just spoke to OfficeWorks and was told they will NOT price match with Telstra (or any telecommunications company) - news to me
YMMV, I got a price beat on a P6 Pro. I showed the team member how I could login to Telstra, add to cart, and check out without a plan. His initial issue was "but you need a Telstra service" - however you only need a (free with no service) Telstra membership.
I don't have a shop nearby so I just called the 1300 number, only to be told flatly they will not match Telstra - maybe if I could go into a store I might have better luck..?
Officeworks consider that you need a plan and that they are locked to the network and don't realise you can actually buy them unlocked and outright from the carriers these days.
I tried back on Telstra day. Mind you like 2 weeks later OW had it even cheaper.
Yes same. I just went to officeworks and she said no price match with Telstra. If you read the Telstra page, that outright price is only if you are already with Telstra.
I just price beat at Officeworks in store no issues, $996.55. Showed the Telstra website with the "Outright" price selected and free delivery, and they did it straight away.
Thanks, am looking for a phone and Pixel 7 Pro is under consideration. By the way how did you work it out as $984.65 with 5% off $1049
Pixel 7a is on the horizon. Shouldn't one wait for it or maybe wait for the price drops on 7/7 Pros after the release of 7a?
Good price, but I wouldn't recommend the Pixel 7 series, unfortunately. I just sent my week-old Pixel back to Telstra for a refund due to the widely-documented laggy scrolling issue:

Interesting - I never experienced this on my 7 Pro and I'm generally sensitive to such things.
One comment that stood out to me was people who said that turning on display battery percentage fixed the issue.
That was something I turned on immediately, so may never have experienced the issue. Turning it off now doesn't cause any scrolling issues though.
I tried all the supposed fixes to no avail. I was able to replicate it on both the 7 and 7 Pro store demo units, as well as my sister's 7 Pro. It can be somewhat hard to notice if you don't compare to a nearby device – for example
Yeah interesting. I got the 7 Pro at launch, and when originally reading about the issue, compared to my partners Pixel 6 Pro, and a Pixel 3 XL. I definitely couldn't reproduce any of the issues people were describing or videoing.
The closest to the issue I could replicate at the time was that moving the viewpoint around a zoomed in picture had the 'heavy' feel on some websites. Only ever on sites that did click to enlarge on pics, then zoomed in. The 6 Pro and the 3 XL did similar, but not in the exact same way or the exact same set of sites.
The only other minor differences I could find, is that the Pixel 7 Pro is worse at sometimes not registering touch when I have very dry skin. However it is better at not registering a touch from a finger just above the surface - something the Pixel 3 XL did very occasionally.
I also notice the 7 Pro stutters on certain websites (Kmart, Bunnings) if I have many many tab groups (each with many tabs inside) still 'open' in the background in Chrome. We are talking 1000+ tabs overall. It's not an available resource issue as far as I can tell, but clearing them sorts the issue.
Interestingly I noticed a similar thing with Chrome on Windows - where the computer is still snappy, except for laggy scrolling. (though a recent Chrome update to better suspend tabs in the background pretty much fixed the issue). And again we are talking 1000+ open tabs before laggyness occurs. It's not a resource issue either, as the computer CPU is idling, and RAM usage is under 50%. Rebooting the computer, then reopening all the tabs would fix it for a while, but it would eventually get laggy again unless the total number of tabs was reduced.
Anyway, interesting issues!
Sorry everyone I didn't expect them not to pricematch
My apologies to everyone.
Kinda of stupid that they won't do that. I'd literally buy it in their face then just to show that it's their loss, like honestly me as a Telstra user if I needed the 7 pro and they refused to price match me, I'd littlerally buy it in their face. Dogs they areSorry to everyone for the disappointment
Thank you Zacaryf. I just bought pixel 7 pro from google store and I am going to refund it.
I was going to get Google store to do price match but unfortunately Google only does price match to qualifying retailers (https://support.google.com/store/answer/9631873#countries)
