Hey everyone
I’m currently using a 4TB 2.5” Portable External Hard Drive on my PS5 and it’s started to run slow. Almost every time I boot up my PS5 I have to wait for the external hard drive to load all my games which is a lot. I have a lot of PS4 and Indie titles and the hard drive has approx 300gb left on it.
So my question is to everyone - How do you store your games when your not playing them?
Do you use a external hard drive or do you just delete them and leave them in your Library ready to download the next time you wanna play one?
I’m thinking of upgrading my external hard drive to a faster self powered 3.5” 8TB one or maybe just a portable 2.5” SSD 2TB one and keep some games on there and the rest in the Library or even buy a PS5 Internal SSD upgrade when they come down in price.
Third option would be to just leave all games I’m not playing in the Library ready to be installed so I can save money on buying a external hard drive that I will slowly fill up again seeing the PS5 can take only one external at a time.
Would love to hear how everyone goes about this so I can weigh up my options on what to do
Thanks in advance!
I just delete games I have finished or no longer playing and hasn't been an issue with the in-built storage. More than sufficient.
As a physical disc collector, pretty easy to reinstall whatever game I want and download smaller patch if required.
