  • Good deal. I think it is $100 cheaper than last Afterpay deal.

    • Last afterpay deal in March was $679.15.

are these any good ? there are so many models Dyson has

It's one of their better models.

All dysons are good, but iirc recent ones are around the same suction force as earlier models, but deliberately louder so people feel like they're more powerful.

      • Any source for your claim about deliberately increased noise?

I tried a quick search and couldn't find anything.

        • My bad, looks like the V series isnt affected.

    • This V10 variant - the 'Absolute' version - has the fluffy Hard Floor motorised head which is brilliant, and the reason we purchased ours originally years ago. Works quite significantly better on hard floors for collecting dust and crumbs compared to the normal carpet brush heads that just don't reach into corners and edges under cupboards.

Battery is also surprisingly good when coming from a corded Dyson - not a full hour by any means but roughly half an hour which was plenty enough to do the whole house on medium speed.

not sure about this model but I have used V6 and some other older models and it had the same performance as a cheap Kmart alternative. All very underwhelming.
would not buy Dyson or any bagless vacuum myself.

Paid $100 more 3+ yrs ago. Well worth it.

These are way too expensive for their power level. Glorified dustbusters, perfect for quick pickups of pet hair or small spills. Once you feel the power of a Miele trying to suck the floor nails up through the carpet, you realise how much a Dyson is leaving behind.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I used one at my mother in laws place once and was shocked at how shit it was. She only had it for 6 months.

Would you please sharing which meile model?

        • Damn wish they were at least bagless these days. Don't mind the cord, and also the first review says it's hard to push without the 'turbohead'?

          • @johnjones8: Have to Push harder when you have proper suction compared to a cordless

          • @johnjones8: I would not buy bagless myself. I've had plenty of experience with Dyson and other bagless stick vacuums and bagless corded, Dyson and other, and they are all the same.
Suction is only acceptable when all the filters are cleaned at every use. But cleaning the filters and emptying the bagless vacs is a mess.
Maybe if one haven't experienced a powerful vac they don't know what they are missing but after having a powerful Philips years ago, everything bagless is just garbage. Sadly Philips doesn't make vacs any more. Next time I need a vac I'll try my luck with a bagged Miele

@johnjones8: I buy eBay bags $35 for 10. Use it 99/100 over my stick vacuum.

You’re comparing a full sized vacuum to a handheld vacuum? Not a fair comparison is it

          • @flashi007: Well handhelds are awful at properly cleaning carpets. Suctions isn’t good enough and the battery dies after 10-15 minutes . They’re good for hard floors

    • +1

These cordless vacuums are great if you have hard floors. They have plenty of power for this use. For carpets, a corded vacuum does a better job but not as convenient having to deal with cords

  • I think this is one of those older models without anti-tangle heads

    • it should have it. I bought it a few months back and it does have the detangling veins on the head.

What is pre-buying? Is that just buying, before buying? Like pre-warning, it's just warning - and pre-ordering is simply just ordering.

    • ….when I was preparing to buy appliances?…grammmar? Lazy? Not sure

    • Sozz, the deal was typed late at night when I had a full day of studying prepping for exams this week. Already bought nearly $6k of appliances to furnish my place but I don’t have the keys to it yet

This or the miele triflex x1

  • Does this have a switch that turns on permanently (so you don't have to keep holding down the trigger lie the V8?)

  • Does this allow battery to be changed on the go?

  • Is this the 2022 version?

  • +1

Cheers OP just bought one, been using a Xiaomi Dyson clone for a few years, keen to see the difference, if there will be any at all for an extra $550, moving now so shipping this to the new address.

I have the Miele corded vac and yes, it does have more suction power, but who cares! The convenience of a cordless vac means I rarely use it. I only have the V8 but even it has enough suction to do a great job on carpet. If I want a really deep clean I can bust out the Miele every 6-12 months.

  • It makes a cool, futuristic noise

  • Any deals for the v12 around (prefer the smaller size)? Harvey Norman at $999 seems to be the cheapest I can find.

  • Really good suction, but manufactured waaaay too lean. Lasted 3-4 years with regular use in a small house, most plastic broke, battery hardly lasted and motor finally died. Wouldn't buy again.
