What's the ozbargain choice of value / quality on bumper plates and barbell?

I'd like to expand garage home gym beyond the fortis (kogan) adjustable dumbbell set and do deadlifts as I despise squats.

    Do you 100% need bumpers? I just bought 100kg of coated Olympic weights from rebel. Picking up tomorrow. Sale end tomorrow. Worked out to $4.60/kg according to face value but my rebel gc were accumulated from various percentage off gc promos so actually a little less.

      See my comment below. AD1 selling bumper plates, that seems to work out at $3.75/kg

      I'm after bumper plates to reduce noise and damage to garage floors mainly.

      At $3.75/kg at AD1 (see comment below), it seems you might as well buy new? Are you seeing cheaper?

          What I'm saying is even on marketplace, I'd say its tough to find second hand sold at $3.75/kg, and this is new.

          Were you able to find second hand at a better prices?

    Found an online retailer AD1 selling 80kg worth of bumper plates with barbell, for just over $500 aud.

    Assume barbell worth $200, that's $3.75/kg. Not too shabby?

      As in apex day 1? I thought they closed down? There was a lot of posts in the garage gym Facebook group around 2021 then nothing after lol

      Deadlifts will be the closest thing to leg work for me! And without a rack, no squats for now
