Best Way to Get Bargain for Package Deal on Kitchen & Electronics Items

Hi All,

I am moving into new house in another 2-3 months. I need to buy loads of items for my new house. Like Fridge, washing machine, dryer, cooktop, TV etc. What is the best way to get good deals on these items? I have been to Harvey Norman to get quote but still trying get around with more discounts than what they offered.

Happy to talk to any warehouse agent or any dealers who can give me more bargain.

  • … that’s not really considered bulk btw.

They’ll probably still do a package deal but from my time in retail if you’re only looking at low end the margins are not fantastic unless you get up sold and start inside higher end brands.

Maybe see if you are eligible for good guys commercial, so you can email their team for a commercial quote.

    • Thank you i'll have a look, yeah its not bulk. Its package deal. My bad. I'll update that in the post.

  • Buy online, buy demos/light second hand, buy at auction. Lots of options. Just depends on what lines up.

I'd be seeing what auction houses in Sydney have ex-display home content coming through or business closures etc.

  • TV and fridge just get from FB marketplace; TVs are pretty cheap and you can easily test them up front, so low risk. Fridges are a bit harder but if they are relatively new (5yrs old or so) and from a good manufacturer, they shouldnt be too much of a problem

dryers and washing machines are more risky because of all the moving parts. you can find good deals but harder; so might go new

cooktops depends on what you are after. Ikea does some pretty good deals

In short, mix and match rather than just buying everything in one place. Unless you want everything to be the same brand and new, of course, in which case put your list together (all details, exact models) and go to a few stores and see what they will offer. Then go to another store (or back to the first store) and see if they will beat the best price. Goodguys are (to some extent) HN will negotiate. Appliances online might as well

    • That’s a good summary on all. Thanks for your suggestions. Yes I am after only new ones and preferably same brands in kitchen. I’ll give it a try in Good guys and appliance online as well. Thanks for your suggestions.
