Incredibly tempting at that price even though not the 8K/4K120 HDMI 2.1 version…

    Great price, good find

Solid price but have been holding out on next version box (if there is one) with hdmi 2.1 capabilities. Really tempted to purchase this one though.

    • Yeah, me too. I've just spent time researching 2.1 splitters. However, I've waited this long. I may as well wait for the 2.1 model now details have emerged about it.

The problem is if a new version does come out, expect to pay $500+ for it or wait 1+ years for a sale (Not including the wait time for the new model).

    • Waiting on a hub that doesn't break and limit the whole homes smart devices to about 60 which is lame. If they cant make the glue that hold the whole system together then it's quite frankly crap. I have not bought a Hue bulb for about 3 years because of their shite system.

      • I use sky connect on ZHA hub instead of Hue. No real limits

        • SmartThings has no real limits either. With the huge price premium for Philips Hue, people shouldn't have to resort to third party hubs and hacks to get their products to work as intended.

A 60 device limit when you want to add lighting and automation to your whole house is lame, especially when they are constantly pushing out new $xxx lights instead of fixing their broken hubs.

          • @LowRange: I’m already on 50 devices, with sensors etc.
I’m just thankful ZHL and ZHA is for the most part honoured

  • Thank you! This is an amazing deal - I was waiting for it for a few months.
I hope the gradient lightstrip goes on sale too soon.

    • Does it have to be the play one for it to properly work on tv?

The regular 2M isnt the right one apparently.

      • I think it needs to be the play version and gradient. I noticed that Philips recently released the PC version for larger monitors. Do you guys think it would work on a TV?

    • I picked up a new 2 metre gradient strip this morning for $99, couldn't believe my luck. Not to mention the perfect timing.

      • Can I ask which store ?

  • Getting much more reasonable - just have to lower the price of the strip now

  • Thanks Op, bought
Been waiting for this for a while

  • What's the diff with that newer model listed for $374 from Amazon UK. Is it just Alexa added?

  • Would love it for this price but from what I've read, it does not come with an AUS plug - although that is easily fixed by buying an adapter.
My biggest concern would be it does not support 120Hz 4K, only 120Hz @ 1080p - so my XBSX would be gimped if I wanted to plug it to the box.
Great price if those are not concerns though.

    • Ull have to switch hdmi to go 120 without hue and switch back hdmi for hue. Thats what im thinking

      • Yeah, I thought of that but would actually like to see my lights working with 120Hz 4k on games. From what I gather, the new version can do this, so maybe I just need to wait for that one to go on sale instead.

  • Damn. that’s cheap. (Relatively for this thing!) Nice work OP

For those wanting something they can run for free on whatever hardware they have.. look at Hyperion:
    https://github.com/hyperion-project/hyperion.ng

  • Bought one… I'll think about it later :)
Excellent find. Great price. Thank you!

  • What can this do for me?

    • stripper at home, pay once!

This has been ridiculously expensive in the past.
I instead went with Govee lights.
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Govee-Backlights-Ambient-Compatibl…

Am I missing much, other than a micro delay ?

    • Not much, as long as you don't mind a stupid ass camera hanging over your TV.

      • I believe you can optionally mount the Govee underneath if that's more aesthetically pleasing.

  • Great price

  • Damn just missed it. Had been looking for months.

  • Argh! Been after one of these for ages. I get notified whenever a Philips Hue deal gets posted here but gmail decided not to sync my ozb email account for the past week. I'm devastated!

  • Can i use a 4k hdmi splitter and send one straight to TV and the other plugged in the back of the sync box input and get 4k on my TV ?
