I have a Brother multi-function, which has worked well for the past few years.
I am wondering if there is a more compact machine which can do laser printing and scanning? Don't need the fax function!
PS. I know, I know, I can grab a printer and do the occasional scanning using my phone.
If you do so much scanning that you can't just use your phone, then do you actually need ADF function for scanning, automated document feeder that lets you put a stack of pages in it and it will automatically scan them one by one?
Also fax is better done over the internet these days. I keep a fax number because if it saves me even a single trip to somewhere with an actual fax machine then it pays for itself in saved time. But mostly I just like it when people ask me why do I have a fax number on my business card, makes me seem a little crazy, a bit more of am eccentric wildcard compared to the competition.

Not really, the 'fax' function doesn't add any bulk to the unit.
BW Lasers are generally smaller than the colour versions.
