Omnidesk Standing Desk Stops Working after 1 Year

My Omnidesk pro stops working after 1 year.

I think there is something wrong with the central box.

TL;DR, The right leg suddenly can only go up but cannot go down. While the Left leg is normal.

In the beginning, the screen shows E13.

I tried to reset it with a long press on the Down button twice. After that, I tried to increase the height, both legs were moving but when the right leg reaches the max height, both legs stops.

However, when I press down, the right leg didn't move down while the left leg moves down

Then it keeps showing E08 on the screen.

Reset no longer works now.

I'm not quite sure how to lodge a warranty and I'm not confident about how well the warranty is from Omnidesk. Does anyone have a similar experience and what was your solution?

I just took a photo.

  • switch the motor sides to make it straight

    • I put it upside down and swapped the cables of the left and right motor and it turned out that the bad leg got normal and the good leg went abnormal, so I'm sure there must be something wrong with the central box now.

    From ChatGPT:

It seems like your Omnidesk Pro is experiencing some technical issues. The E13 error code usually refers to a problem with the leg's synchronization, while E08 is related to the desk being uneven. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Disconnect the power cable from the wall socket and wait for 30 seconds before reconnecting it.
Perform a hard reset by pressing and holding the Down button until the desk reaches its lowest height and continues to hold for about 10 seconds more. Release the button when the display shows "RST" or the legs stop moving.
After the reset, press and hold the Down button again for 10 seconds to initiate the desk's re-syncing process. You should see the legs move slightly and hear a click.
If the desk still isn't working correctly, inspect the cables and connections for any visible damage or loose connections, especially between the central box and the legs.
Check the right leg for any physical obstruction or damage that may prevent it from moving down.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, it might be a hardware problem with the central box or the right leg's motor. In that case, you should contact Omnidesk customer support for further assistance, as your desk may need a repair or replacement.

    • Thanks for that. I followed the above steps with no luck. Not sure if anyone has experienced their warranty service?

I'm not quite sure how to lodge a warranty

Email (not live chat) their customer service and explain the situation then also round out the email by asking them to confirm ACL obligations for such an expensive desk and what would be considered a reasonable warranty period?

I ran into the same issue two weeks in, sent through an email and got a replacement control box delivered.

Feel free to attempt the usual tests, but definitely send through an email and let them know of the issues. They'll ask for the standard information such as if tests have been performed and an image of the powered end of the control box.

If you have any particular questions regarding the process feel free to reach out.

    Best of luck!

Their warranty is for 7 years (10 if you did the social media posting thing). Call or email them asap and get the ball rolling.

These guys rely on social media for marketing. If they refuse to honour their warranty, start leaving online reviews (with just the facts) and I'm sure they respond quite quickly.
