  • I’d love a good bargain on an AM5 socket motherboard.

I'm using this as we speak, it has driver timeout issues, minimum one per session I turn it on, at random times. I've tried everything I can't get rid of it, and it will crash a game when you're playing. I mean it's just worth noting they can't work out this problem

I'm also using one of these in a PC and have none of the issues you describe. Sounds like an OS / software issue.

That's good. If you google AMD driver timeout 5600g by no means am I the only one. As I said just worth noting

Do you get Display driver amdwddmg stopped responding and has successfully recovered. in Windows Event Viewer? I suddenly started seeing a lot of these errors plus some hard resets - currently RMAing the CPU (replaced the PSU to no avail, Memtest86+ passes and various driver versions made no difference).

      • Yep exactly. I just put up with it now, I'll eventually get a GPU hopefully that solves the problem

        • +1

I think it's worth requesting a replacement if you can live without it for a few weeks. If you're buying a discrete GPU, why get the APU in the first place?

          • @Quppa: No I agree, but I've had it 12 months now, I just put up with it. I only use it as a daily now anyway, my gaming days didn't last long, the driver issues were frustrating. I'll just put a card in it one day when I can feel like getting into gaming again.

      • Try using the same refresh rate on all your monitors. I think the problem is the Radeon GPU driver with multi-monitor setups.

        • This was with a single monitor setup (and no RAM overclocking). I built two PCs with identical components, and only one has this issue, so I think it's just a faulty part.

    • +1

Does your screen go completely black when it crashes? Do you run more than one monitor with your setup? I fixed my problem by forcing the same refresh rate across all my monitors. I'm running Ryzen 5 5600 + Radeon RX 6600.

Edit: Also I had to run my RAM at the default speed since it's not fully compatible with my motherboard.

Starting to believe theres more chance of walking on the sun in thongs than that happening

y not but new i5 13600k, its better and cheaper - low $400s, great chip

      • +1

They might have to change their whole motherboard for that

        • +1

well, if your paying $500 for CPU alone, maybe time to upgrade rest

      • doesnt fit my board

  • Anyone here using one of these in a Plex server/NAS?

    • +1

I use one on my Jellyfin/Game server. Does the job.

      • +1

What’s your setup if you don’t mind me asking?

    • +1

No ecc support on the “G” variant. Something to consider.

  • Any deal on Amd 5700

  • How did you know this eBay shop is part of PC Byte?

    • well looks like admin cahnaged it :D.
      Rev history says :)

  • will that be a good idea to upgrade my 3800x with this cpu?

    • +1

Probably better off with a 5600 no G as the 5600G has built in graphics

  • No PCIe 5 though, yeah?

  • Ordered one, thanks mate
