Here is some info regarding the PAL system used. This explains why TVs from the UK are less likely to work over here in Australia while German ones and those from other continental European countries such as France and Spain do.

That's right. I have a 933G with DVB-T. Europe uses 8Mhz for UHF while we use 7Mhz. SBS and 44 won't work at all with the Toshiba tuners. I will have a separate HDD based PVR anyway so I can always use the tuner in that anyway.
There is no way to get Toshiba Europe TVs to tune 7Mhz UHF as far as I can see."
