Does he need an action cam, is he filming outdoors with lots of movement, indoors on a chair where he can set up external lights, etc.?
He is doing both and indoor and outdoor fast scenes. He said yes to needing external lights, doesn't have any yet. He has a gimbal but thats all at this stage.

@figarow: A lot of the big YouTubers started out with just whatever old camera they had. Good gear doesn't make good videos.
@AustriaBargain: I agree with this to an extent… but we now live in a world where amateur video production quality is SO high that it's hard to compete with poor resolution/bad audio quality.
Out of curiosity, what type of content is he making? Day-in-the-life type vlogs? Skateboard/scooter vids?
As you mention 'fast scenes,' I do imagine it's the latter, and in that case a GoPro may be what you're after
A bit of everything dont really know myself not sure if he knows fully. GoPro might be good as an extra but to start he can get by with half decent camera.
You can find a second hand GoPro on Facebook Marketplace for fairly cheap. The Hero 7 Black and above have stabilisation which would help quick action shots.
