Move to a free debit card
So then why are you complaining if you're choosing to pay for a credit card because it's "much better"?
use a debit card then )
Just get the debit card. Only annoying thing is 2000 deposit every month so just set up a direct debit
Definitely not worth it.
3 reasons:
1. Because Westpac card payment is required, you are 7.5% worse off by unable to use Coles Prepaid MC.
2. Unless you shop a lot & frequently, it's not worth stocking up gift cards anymore as it used to be. Given saving interest rate is around 4.5% compare to 0.5% a year ago.
3. These deals are not particularly attractive. We do get 10% off gift cards very often. EOFY, Black Friday, Christmas, Easter etc.
Conclusion: These Westpac deals are only good for those who were unable to secure Coles Prepaid MC + always spend a lot.
The deals in this post beat using Coles PMC/Vanilla Visa though. Also Amazon at 10% is certainly not "very often", it's pretty rare.
Wished you could still get free debit card of CDIA accounts from their brokerage arm.
This brings me up to $1500 of gift cards purchased today. None of which were able to be put on the credit card I need to spend $1500 on this month.
:/
Virgin flyer?
Yep. It seems I got my date of birth wrong when I signed up and I'm waiting on them to fix it. So I haven't been able to log into the app and set a pin, so I couldn't use it today when I bought Coles Prepaid Mastercards. Then I also did the Westpac Special card offer.
Don't they do an ID and credit check when applying for a credit card? The ID check should've been knocked back with the incorrect DOB, no?
@dm02: I would have thought so, but apparently not?!
@dm02: It's it's anything like virgins original card (the one with the rounded edge) many many years ago.
I applied for it and there were some additional forms and proof of ID required (back when it was more involved than an online form), I couldn't be bothered, after a few reminder letters and me ignoring them i got the card in the mail.
Thanks Op
WESTBACK!!!
LeTS gO!!!
There was also a $10 cashback on $100 kogan gift card.
But, Kogan.
shudder
$20 cashback when you stack with the 10% cashback on the kogan group $100 gift card
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/768020
Faults aside, kogan has great value 365 day mobile deals so it could be worth it
Yep and buy in the iOS app for an extra $5 off
Cheers OP! 🍻
Thanks Op! Appreciate it
WestBACK to the 90s where banks still charged monthly account keeping fees 🤣
x100
AND they would restrict password length to 6 characters because their database would spit the dummy otherwise.
They must still be using an IBM mainframe application or something for it to be that restricted.
$$$ cost for Westpac - no wonder they charge a monthly fee.
Not sure about that. I have been with Westpac for a long time. Then my mum opened account at Westpac and she setup a 8 characters password. Worked fine.
Wtf Payment unsuccessful
Thanks op
Is this capped per member or transaction???
Anyone? Can I make multiple transactions for $20 caps with big w?
With theese deals every Wednesday, makes me want to get a Westpac account -any recommendations? lol
Just get it. I opened my Westpac account online and started to use within 5 mins after making an instant deposit via PayID. You don’t need the physical card to use it for online purchases, card details are in the app.
If you don’t like it for whatever reason, move your money out and close your Westpac account. No obligation.
Thanks for the help. Will look into it :)
Believe me the glory days have gone . Just a few peanuts nowadays . I think it's line ball if it's worth getting the ac ,
do note that a $5 account keeping fee applies unless you do a 2K dep every month. You can transfer the 2k out immediately
That's true. PayID is your friend for immediate transfers.
PayID/Osko has a daily limit of 1k though
Under 30 and over 55 and retired the fee is waived.
Anyone having the card expired bug? Have to swipe like 10 times to pass.its been happening for a few Months
Yep, happens randomly on both my Westpac and CBA cards. It usually works on the 2nd go though.
Yes has been happening on my Westpac CC. Have to do it up to 5 times.
Thanks op
Thanks op. Got one for Amazon
Probably has been answered 1000s time, can you buy prime membership with a GC ?
No you can't.
No more amazon GC already?
There is only a 2% cashback banner for amazon GC in my WP Lounge
Yup, same.
Same here.
Does it have to be at least $50 with BigW? Saw that on the cashback page for BigW.
Yeh I checked and it still says $50 minimum spend , can anyone confirm ?
Merchant rule
no more amazon or chemist warehouse
the wait for these to track kills me.
So how long does it take? I did my first Westpac+Shopback purchase at CWH last night, and it's still not tracking.
My Shopback tracking came through overnight, about 28 hours after purchase.
So Big W just did a partial refund due to an item being OOS, does that mean my SB won't go through?
Yep no cashback.
ffs, time to cancel the order then.
Can you do multiples at CHW or is it once off?
Regarding Big W - Before you waste hours of your life like I did, I could not for the life of me checkout using credit card using a desktop browser….(mumbles adfhjkasfnm)
Seems to work through Shopback app on a phone though
