This is dangerously tempting, but with the amount of sport I watch, the risk of burn in worries me too much
I have a C2 42" OLED which I use as my primary pc monitor so I have a lot of static images on the screen like text, icons, taskbar and 8 months in and 3300 hours later (so 13hrs a day avg) I have yet to see any sort of burn in. Again Samsung/ LG might have different panels but I am just saying burn in on OLED isn't as bad as people make it out to be.
And before the C2 I have also had the C1 48", and CX 48" in the last 2 years and I have had no issue with those either.
Do you do anything to reduce burn in? Or do you use it like any other monitor?
I honestly use it as any regular monitor, I don't hide any icons, or taskbar, I don't use any screensaver when I am away or even turn it off. I'll just leave my work on the screen and go cook some food and come back and resume where I left off. With my CX I was very paranoid about burn in, but a year later before I changed to the C1 it had 0 burn in issue, and when I changed from the C1 to the C2 same thing.
@thesmartone1125: I don't plan on changing from the C2 to a C3, maybe 2-3 gen down the line so maybe will change when then C5 comes out so we'll know if long term use case has horrbile burn ins or not.
@thesmartone1125: but you leave the burn in protection is still enabled on the TV settings?
Also how is the auto dimming issue?
when does auto dimming occur?
I saw some videos that shows it can be annoying
Keep in mind they're different OLED technologies, Samsung is proving to have some burn in issues with these early generations (well, now gen 2).
Not sure why you got voted down.
I thought most people followed rtings here.

Both the qd oleds seemed to have problems with static white images. Admittedly the conditions weren't typical and only one of each unit isn't an ideal sample size but it's worth knowing about at least.
Burn in is hardly even a risk on these OLED displays nowadays
What’s the Samsung EPP price?
$1399.13
I went into store they did 1196 for one
do you mind pming me the receipt? I might try to get them to match that
Please let me know if you have any luck. They’ll most likely look at the state and make up some bullshit reason why they can’t match it in VIC.
They took $300 $228 off? How?
TGGC has it at $1125, so you just need to slap a bit of % above it and they'll bite.
Are you able to share the receipt please?
@xis123 is a staff member so I doubt you’ll have much luck.
I was asking @tophern who got it for 1196
@wearytraveller: Sorry, I thought it was the same person. @tophern appears to be unresponsive and not explaining how they managed this so they’re either full of shit or got staff price. You can certainly walk into your local and ask but you’ll probably be met with a laugh IMO.
I was able to easily get the TV matched for $1196. I believe it's the lowest they'll sell it for as the store clerk confirmed that price just by glancing her PDA.
I asked for a similar deal for the 65" S95B and bought it for $1836 + $55 shipping.
Happy to PM my receipt for others to try for the 65"
For someone who knows very little about TVs, how does this compare to the A80J?
The Samsung should have better image quality.
The Sony should have better motion handling, processing.
Sony also would have Dolby Vision support, and AndroidTV is a big plus over Tizen.
Thanks. I also read a fair bit about some potentially bad QC issues with Samsung which is swaying me to Sony
Oled are going down in price because of burn in issues, why whould you spend grands on a tv seeing get ruined in a year because of burn in issues
For those that think burn ins dont exist , go to gumtree and ebay and you will see that it is a problem
Samsung maybe but not LG
