  • Not answering your question but you could get a 6750 XT for that same price, with its comparative performance gpu being RTX 3070.

    • Yeah i also saw that deal, but i feel like i'm missing out in terms of dlss, cuda, rt, nvec, etc when going with the 6750xt. When dlss is enabled on the 3060ti and fsr is enabled on the 6750xt, which one will be more performant?

      • 6750 xt, in general dlss and fsr give similar frames per second. The only difference is quality, dlss is usually slightly better but not by a noticeable margin so they're practically the same (for dlss 2 vs fsr 2).

I'd say the big advantage of the 6750xt is extra vram, it will give it a much better life since 8gb can be restricting at 1440p on certain unoptimised games.

RT could be a reason, but you're dealing with weaker cards so you might not even bother enabling it if you're like me and prefer higher fps. Other than that you'd never notice a difference, I guess an advantage for amd is that they're software is so much nicer. Makes NVIDIA controller panel + GeForce experience look so old.

When shopping for a mid-range card, Ray-tracing is pretty much irrelevant anyway since enabling it makes most games run at a less-than-playable framerate. There's really only a couple of old games where Ray-tracing runs fine on a 3060 (e.g Minecraft and Quake?)

The only 2 features that should affect your decision between AMD and Nvidia is Nvenc and DLSS. The former is a feature that greatly benefits streamers and people who want to encode their media library to a high efficiency format to save space (i.e handbrake / staxrip transcoding). DLSS is now almost matched by newer versions of FSR. Reviewers do agree though that DLSS looks better than current versions of FSR in many scenarios, but FSR will likely see improvements over time.

As Wicko suggested the extra VRAM of the Radeon GPU will prolong the longevity of the card — i.e. it is likely that a 12GB VRAM card will handle games at a higher quality setting than a 8GB RTX 3060 Ti in some current and many future titles. See HWUnbox's video on this topic
