  • SPECIAL LIMITED TIME PRICE RISE IS COMING !!!!!

    Interest rates are on hold…

  • Got these from a previous deal nearly 2 years ago. Have been quite good. Had one random false alarm though which was a bit disconcerting.

    • Bought my parents a bunch of these from a previous deal and they've had a random false alarm too, middle of the night all of the connected alarms decided to go off. My theory was because they use 433Mhz to communicate something else must have triggered them. Not too concerning if it's a one off, but if it happened often it would be a worry.

      • I can imagine having them go off in the middle of the night would be quite the shock!

Luckily mine was during the day. You may be right about the wireless frequency causing the trigger.

      Yrp..
Let me guess the price rise will be $77
..for a few weeks then $49.50 again. Who do they think they are, Liquorland?

    • Still a good deal consider the next best price I can find is $63.
They just don't need to say anything about 'special limited time'.

      • They just don't need to say anything about 'special limited time'.

Or false & misleading statement : "Usually $77"

        • Ahh ok I see the original post now. Yea absolutely unnecessary when they are already the cheapest on market.

I got a non connected quell one from Bunnings for $30.

If you can't hear a smoke alarm from one end of your house to the other. You're deaf or your house is too big 😋

They're probably becoming mandatory soon are they?

Legislation in QLD mandates that you have interconnected ones in rental properties. In 2026 (from memory) this will also apply to owner-occupied residences.
I wouldn't be surprised if this came to other states as well.

Before getting into batteries, I briefly considered starting a business having installers in metropolitan and regional hubs in QLD. Initially, installers charged $150 for each installed. Installation takes about 5 minutes.
The only constraint is that you have to replace a wired smoke alarm with a wired one. As electricians charge much more than handymen, and my Chinese supplier didn't have wired alarms at the time (they do now), I didn't go ahead with it.

    • What about multi level homes? We have 3 smoke alarms in our house and I can definitely hear all of them from all parts of the house - but at night when i'm sleeping, with the doors closed, perhaps not.

    • IMO the best thing about these compared to others is the remote.

    • Actually, right now in Queensland, all rental properties must have interconnected smoke alarms installed:

      • in every bedroom
      • in hallways that connect bedrooms
      • on each level of the home.

If there are no bedrooms on a storey, at least one smoke alarm must be installed in the most likely path of travel to exit the dwelling. The smoke alarms must be photoelectric and either hardwired to AC or have non-removeable, non-replaceable batteries that have a 10-year life.

These same rules become law for all dwellings in Queensland in 2027.

OP how about offering free shipping or something rather than just reposting the standard price?

  • Can't see the marking on this smoke alarm showing compliance with Australian Standard 3786-2014. Where is it? Pics please.

In QLD, if your house/dwelling already has a hardwired smoke alarm that needs replacing, these battery operated ones won't do at all.
