    Yes the refill is an absolute nightmare. They don't last too long either before they break.

  I have a couple of these and they work pretty well but the soap they supply is pretty harsh and I assume poor quality, it really dries out the skin so I wouldn't recommend using if you intend to buy the refills.
  It's not that hard to pry off the lid, it just has three tabs which you can lift off without damage by gently prizing with a couple of small screwdrivers. I replaced the soap with a mix of sukin handwash (30% `ish) and water and it works well.

  Panmi is pretty dodgy, if you have a warranty issue they make you pay shipping first and only refund if they decide its a warranty issue. Plus they add additional charges if they decide it isn't a warranty issue.
