I hate the mac keys on here. I'm constantly mixing up start/alt

  • +1

    What is "advanced" about it?

    • +3

It sends the keystrokes to the computer wirelessly before you type them. It has some kind of technology that senses where your fingers are going before they get there. I think the MX stands for Mysterious X-rays, but don’t worry — there is no harmful radiation to worry about

It might be the keyboard elves, I had a mate who made shoes for a living who had something similar with his shoes.

Mostly the software with its ability to connect to multiple devices and for example copy paste text between them. I guess the back light that only turns on when your hand is near is 'smart' too. But skipping all that, it's just a good quality keyboard and if you like low profile keys I haven't found anything better for the price that's wireless

      • +1

Although the backlight on mine (and many other people's) comes on when my hands are nowhere near the thing - draining the battery in days instead of weeks.

        • That's odd! I only keep mine on during work hours, but even then it lasts for weeks. If yours is only lasting for a few days I'd probably exchange it

          • @Ibz: Well, it' because the backlight keeps coming on and going off every 10 seconds even when I'm not even in the room. And there are many users with the exact same issue. This is my second mx keys that has done the same thing.

I've contacted Logitech and they'll usually just say "try resetting it" and see how you go. I'm going to have to contact them again, but I just realised that I've had it just over a year now (and they only have 12 months warranty - which is pretty damn poor for an expensive keyboard).

            • @AdrianW: That's really unfortunate. As a last ditch effort I'd say try wiping it down and using those pressurised air cans to blow the dust out. If that doesn't work, I'd say just call them out for the issues and cite consumer law to get a full refund and be done with it.

Thanks OP and @ozvictor - will go nicely with my new Logitech trackball. Here’s hoping I can use the unifying receiver for both…

Logitech Lift off-white version is $65 with this coupon too.

    • Thanksss

  • Price has been jacked now

    • I still see the same price, what are you seeing exactly?

    • Still the same. Remember you need to use the code.

    • Follow the 'Go to deal' link rather than the one in the post. The code works regardless.

You're right. Somehow in my stupidity, I'd added the keyboard from Bing Lee. What an awesome price.

        • You are right btw. Bing Lee did jack the price for their listing.

  • This one or logitech ergo k860?
    Which is more comfortable?

    • I think it depends on you need.
I have k860 and while I like the contour shape which suits my ergonomic needs, I think in term of finger touch and ease of typing MX Keys advanced is better.

If you are not like me and don't need the k860 for wrist comfort, Mx keys advanced should be a better option for you.

      • Thanks for reply, really need wrist comfort.

        • +1

Then K860 is great. I totally loves mine. I moved from Microsoft sculpt ergonomic to my k860. The k860 keys were a bit harder than sculpt but I got used to the new keys very quickly.

You're better off getting the Cherry stream keyboard. Its an absolute joy to type on and the keys are much mroe silent than the logitech. Easily best keyboard I've ever used. Cheaper too!

That keyboard is in no way comparable to the logitech. For starters it's wired, not wireless…

      • It's also UK layout…

        • not backlit aswell, just a cheap knockoff version of the Logitech k740

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: The keyboard is anything but cheap. The key mechanism is head and shoulders above logitechs. Other manufacturers use their system for laptops and other stuff.

            • @vlahka: plenty of user reviews comparing it to the discontinued k740 saying otherwise. heres a detailed review post on amazon:

"1. Its keys have more travel than Logitech K740 illuminated keyboard
              2. The key strokes feel slightly firmer than K740, i.e. the keys are more springy and have more resistance
              3. It is definitely not as quiet as K740
              4. It does not have back lights to illuminate the keys in the dark.
              5. The shortcut keys at the top are not scissor mechanism. As a comparison, all of K740's keys are scissor switch-based.
              6. It does not have a palm rest like the K740 does.
              7. The whole keyboard feels plastic dominant. Not sure if the key letters are laser etched onto the caps but time will tell." - Regularone

              • @[Deactivated]: Some of those I wouldnt class as negative. They're more preference. Example wanting a palm rest, or a huge delete key. I could list a negative for the logitech keyboard as the F keys being crazily too close to the number keys, or the backspace being shorter. I have to ask though, the link given here, which MX keyboard is it because I dont think I see 740 mentioned anywher and theres like 3 or 4 types of MX keyboard, all feel differently from what I've read.

        • I might not be seeing something, but what layout is different? It looks the same as my logitech keyboard.

      • My bad, just saw the keyboard picture and ignored the heading because I'm simple. At least this is a good alternative for anyone whos after a wired keyboard.

  • Voucher also applies to Logitech MX Master 3S, brining it to $109, would pair nicely with this keyboard

Reminder 3S uses Bolt. The MX Keys uses Unifying receiver.

  • I bought the last one , lucky last :)

  • Glad I bought the MK850 keyboard/mouse combo last night! $98 was too good to resist.

  • Good price, thanks op :)

  • Good price!
