    Expensive clock

    • For this price it should be a smart clock that adjusts itself automatically for daylight savings time based on your phone. If the clock lasts 10 years then that's 20 times you don't need to pull it off the wall to adjust it. And when you replace batteries the time will automatically set itself proper after, so more than 20 times it'll save you some effort.

    • I paid only a little under $80 for the version with the oak frame.

All relative. I wanted a mechanism that wouldn't die in 12 months, and the sweep hand, and glass face. I'm sure they cost like $10 to make, but I couldn't find something else that satisfied my wants for less.

Will it fit my wrist :?

      Only if your a pimp

      Or Arnold Schwarzenegger

      • Only if you have a few seconds to "get to the choppa"

    Sapphire glass ?
What automatic movement on this bad boy ?

  • Reviews say not quiet

    • If that's the case it's on Amazon. Amazon it's pretty good with returns if you find that it's not what it's meant to be.

  • I want a sweeping second clock, with date-window, not a digital display with date. Does such a clock exist?!

<insert wall clock comparison to watch joke>

      You're 22 minutes late.

Better get a new wrist clock.

Seiko and Kmart brand is like apples and oranges

      • How about Seiko and Rolex

      • It's more like comparing Jazz apples to Kanzi apples.

        • Envy is nicer than both, though perhaps in a more crowd pleaserish way.

          • @Banj0: Have you tried Modi apples? Could only find them in Coles and appears to be seasonal.

            • @JaxSantiago: I have not. Maybe it's a Coles exclusive (as Envy was originally with Woolworths). Funny all the trademarking of varieties these days.

Apple season pretty much now, so I'll have to drop by my local Coles and see if they're around. I do love a good apple.

That looks like it's only worth $2. It looks cheap and nasty.

Not saying the Seiko is a good deal, and not saying the Kmart clock doesn't function just as well. But there comes a point where I'm not putting that in my house.

      • +2

Seiko looks like something you'd want on your wall. Kmart one looks like something you'd want in the tip.

  • What's the accuracy like.
    Bit plain looking.

Even though it doens't have smooth second hand, it is REALLY quiet. you can still hear it if you are in a very very quiet environment. But this is definitely quieter than any so call (for e.g. ikea) quiet smooth second hand clock. Also it doesn't chew through battery like others.

    • It should be pretty accurate. It's a Seiko.

      • misaligned chapter ring and not hitting the markers is acceptable ha.

        • I can't comment on that. It's fullfilled by Amazon AU If any issues they are pretty good.

          • @Scrooge McDeal: True. looks ok, don't know how much a wall clock is worth but I'd want something a bit more unique or classic but no doubt good for those looking for one.

  • Got one! Thanks OP!

    • You are welcome. It says 2 left now.

I get cheap $12 ones from ikea

  • That is the ugliest looking clock I have seen in a long time.

    • Haha yes I wish IKEA would make it

Crap price for a simple thing as a wall clock. OP sorry but it doesn't matter if it is a Seiko or not. It is a bloody clock dammit and this is 2023.

  • is this Spring Drive?

    • -1

This one says "Quartz" on the front, so no. Quartz refers to the quartz crystal in electronic clock drives, so this one has electronic drive, and is powered by battery.

      • +1

He is trolling. Spring drive adds another three 0s on the end

  • +2

Waiting for the tourbillon model but thanks anyway.. 😅

My doctor gave me a free one from pfizer with viagra logo. Both hands got stuck at 12, so threw away.

  • Does anyone else think the Seiko word isn't aligned correctly in the picture? Japanese QA and design has been really disappointing lately.
