Starting a new proxmox project, and looking for a cost effective and flexible rack case.
The case needs to be under 500mm deep due to rack length restrictions. I also only have ATX power supplies available.
The motherboard I am considering is likely to be a Micro ATX, but if the case fits an ATX motherboard I may look at that as an option.
Also open to suggestions on mATX motherboards with an AM4 socket (I have a Ryzen 5 5600X)… and preferably more than one pcie x16 slot, and 2 x M.2 slots.
Have looked at Silverstone and TGC so far, but interested to hear from the gurus in this forum.
Thanks.
If you want something cheap then try the ones sold on Aliexpress however I won't trust the axial fans (if any) that might come with the case. I settled for a 1U case as I wanted a silent low power rack server for my home rack. I only used the Aliexpress enclosure and everything inside were of reputed brands including the PSU and it had been humming away happily for the last 2+ years.
