Got a 6800 around Oct 2022 for $100 more, this should be cheaper as newer gen mid range is coming out.
Basically all cards should be cheaper but unfortunately here we are… Lol
6800 TUF Gaming New $670 :) .. happy with the buy
Dam i wish i got, TUFs seems good.
Heaps of people got one.. probably around 100 from this deal here
@vid_ghost: Yea i saw s few good deals but hadn't decided 6800 was my dream boo at that stage
Look at this. I mean for close to this price you get a PS5 which has a GPU almost as fast as this and you get the whole system with it. This is daylight robbery. Stop buying at this price and look at the used market(if possible) till these come down.
The PS5's GPU is equivalent to a 5700 XT. The reason why it looks good is because of specific optimisation for consoles and the low resolution in most cases (1080p).
Used sucks too, unfortunately. In many cases you're getting less than a 50% discount which to me isn't worth it for a component that's got not warranty and has been used for years.
Not really, I paid less than 800 for a 3080Ti with warranty and in good shape. Just have to be vigilant and look around.
A sample size of one doesn't mean a whole lot. Sure, some people are willing to let their kit go for a good price but for the most part you see cards going for like a 20% discount. At that point you might as well just wait for the next sale event.
@Diji: There were plenty of good deals on ebay few months back. There was a sale of 3070Ti for 450ish and 100s of card sold overnigt. I also watched on ebay highend 3090/3080Ti go for 1100. Not as good as mine, but still was a steal and this was many months ago - all with warranties remaining. Another set of 16 3090 Strix card on FB for 12k and so on. There were many I have seen go for wonderful prices. Get a card, undervolt it and run it and it will surely run for years without issues as long as its not overly abused in the first place.
I have a GTX 1080 that I purchased at the end of first mining boom and the Heatsink was so oxidised that I wanted to return it back. I gave it a try for a week and it was wonderfully boosting over 2GHz. Just kept the card, replaced the fan and it works woderfully even today :)
As long as you are not getting a card for gaming several hours a day, that is stressing, a used card should be fine in most cases. Of course some do fail, but that is true with used cars as well.
@[Deactivated]: I think we just have different definitions of a good deal so we'll have to agree to disagree.
Hate the Asus naming. Always makes me think they stuck 2x GPU on one card. Like the good o'l days of ATi.
Like seriously…do we NEED to know the fact it has dual fans as opposed to tri fan as a prominent part of the product name? Lazy marketing. Calling it 'Bobc would have been better.
grrr..
Or clever marketing for the masses. Put less fans and still call it dual as if there is 2x performance or something. Make it sound something big.
I have decided that rather than supporting AMD/Nvidia for their overpriced GPU, I will get a Steam Deck instead.
And still support AMD with a worse price to performance ratio while also adding a third greedy entity known as Gabe to the support mix?
Is this even a deal? What's the discount on this? I swear I was looking like 5 months ago and they were this price as well… Similar to the other deal with sapphire 6700 for ~450…
The members here suck and try to encourage/advertise high prices. 90% of the deals shouldn't be posted here but they treat ozbargain like it's /pcmasterrace. Doesn't help that the mods allow these retail priced products to stay up on the page.
I have a 5700, is this a decent upgrade?
Nah.
No. It marginal improvement. Won't be a difference maker upgrade. Maybe another generation or two for you to upgrade
I think it's pretty significant especially if it's not a 5700XT… But it always depends on your current gaming experience and if it's causing you issues…
20% better at 1080P, 30% better at 1440p and 35% better at 4k
Not sure what the (18000Mhz) is referring to???
