How to Access Home CCTV NPAPI

My home cctv is a coax affair. It runs to this dvr box. To access I used IE and npapi plugin.
Now that MS has disabled IE, I can't run it.

NPAPI Plugins Are Not Supported In Edge or Chrome, even the workarounds are gone.

What can I do? I can't afford to replace the cctv yet as cables go thru walls.

Possibly failing all this and looking into the future, what would you install as cctv for a 2lvl townhouse? I run home assistant, synology ds920+. I have 3 cctv cams atm.
Might have to see what the costs and benefits are and plan ahead.

  • Instead of PC, use it with your phone. For Android, App like Tiny Cam

    • The apps can only view the CCTV cannot do other functions for example check whether playback is stuffed up for some reason and currently it looks like something is wrong
I need to check out the settings and weather I need to reformat

  • IE mode in Edge can work. Otherwise you could find a more modern box that accepts the old analogue cameras. I got an old Swann DVR that works on Edge in IE mode. Check hard rubbish, people throw them out these days.

    • Edge in IE mode still failed for some reason. I guess it's dead.

Then perhaps some wifi cameras, with adapters to run the required power via the coax instead. You solve your access issues, get (likely) much better cameras, and don't need to run new cables.

A full set replacement might be expensive, but a system this old is well due to be replaced.

    • Well the the current system are 720P cameras and about 8 years old.
There's one that covers the front and it could benefit from being something a bit wider angle. It's on the second fl outer wall so I would still probably need someone to instal it.

    • If I were to replace, what would I look at?
